What to do to improve memory

If you go to the doctor with a complaint about memory impairment, he, of course, will prescribe treatment for you in accordance with the standard scheme. But he is unlikely to have a heart-to-heart talk with you and give you instructions on how to preserve his memory until old age. You've probably heard, and perhaps even met with the facts of missing people. It happens that people, even those who are not old, suddenly forget the way home, cannot remember where their relatives live, and moreover, they cannot give their own name. They enter public transport and drive in an unknown direction. And then the family begins to search for relatives who have lost their memory, and it lasts for months.

A large number of children, boys and girls face a problem memorizing information. It is difficult to understand the lesson, the teacher’s questions and stories do not linger in my head, I came home and forgot what was discussed in the classroom.

So the question arises: is it possible to maintain a good memory throughout life? Is there an opportunity to improve it? As a qualified specialist, I can say “Yes” with confidence.

All organs, including the brain, have many degrees of protection. It is impossible to say that the potential of the brain is infinite. Nothing is eternal, it all ends someday. Only the universe is endless. In order to activate the biochemical and biophysical processes in the brain, training is required. If you do not train the muscles, for example, on the legs, they will become flabby, gradually atrophy. The same thing happens with the brain.

Our task is not to allow organs, body systems and brain cells to stand idle. How can this be done? Legendary healers were able to find the answer to this question. Doctors of ancient civilizations in India, Egypt, China, Greece recommended their patients to do something new every day. For example, reading, counting, solving puzzles and riddles, making the brain think.

I will give an example from my practice. About six months ago, a fairly wealthy man came to see me: “Doctor, your former patient advised me to contact you. Then you helped him. Help me too, please. " "What worries you?" I asked.

“Something has happened to my memory. I began to forget a lot. I forget the names - patronymics of people important for my work. I forget the promises that I myself give, I don't remember what they promised me. I forget about the meetings and the issues that I wanted to solve at them. After the negotiations, I can't remember what they were talking about. It has such a negative effect on my business. This is the real problem for me,”he told me.

Of course, I recommended that he undergo an examination. Then take up the treatment. The treatment I advised him was mainly to stress the brain.

To study a foreign language, to conduct trainings for the brain - to memorize large numbers and unfamiliar words that have appeared in our country from other languages, by folding associative chains. Also solve crosswords, scanwords. My patient was clearly disappointed with these recommendations. He wanted me to prescribe miraculous medications for him, by taking which he could instantly restore his memory.

I honestly told him that drugs that help improve memory exist. But they are ineffective without brain training. With this our conversation ended. Of course, a man of forty-two, a successful businessman, expected only healing pills from me.

Six months later, I was approached by a former patient who recommended me to that businessman. And they came to the reception together. It was there that I managed to communicate in detail with our hero. From the story, I learned that he came from the family of a prominent official of the Soviet era, thanks to which he got a lot of funds and connections, they gave him the opportunity to start his own business and conduct business safely.

The way of life, of course, did not add to his health. The presence of a car freed from walking. Accordingly, overweight appeared. Physical activity was not included in the daily routine. All the pleasures of a rich life - stress, nightlife brought to the point that insomnia began, memory began to disappear.

And no one has invented miraculous pills yet. And hardly anyone will invent it. Of course, there are drugs that are highly effective. But they are useful to those who are able to understand that nothing is just given. And health cannot be bought for money.

Our brain is designed in such a way that it must be kept in good shape. It is impossible to reboot it, as it will immediately make it clear that something is wrong.

So what will help our brains keep it up and running? These are some simple guidelines:

-Walking…. You need to walk 6 - 8 kilometers a day.

- To consume vitamins, in particular B vitamins, especially vitamin B-12 (cyanocobalamin); it should be borne in mind that people after 45-47 years old experience a lack of this vitamin, more precisely, in the form that is formed after the transformation of cyanocobalamin in the body. Vitamin therapy should be carried out under the supervision of a doctor, because with regular use of vitamin B-12, blood clotting increases, which increases the risk of blood clots in blood vessels. This is especially dangerous for people with coronary artery disease. Lack of vitamin B-12 in middle-aged people causes negative processes in the brain, and this contributes to memory impairment.

All people, regardless of age, must eat well so that the body gets enough calories, essential vitamins and minerals, amino acids, polyunsaturated fatty acids, and so on. For the normal and fruitful work of the brain, fruits and vegetables are needed: apples, citrus fruits, all kinds of berries - garden and forest, bananas, grapes, carrots, tomatoes, potatoes, vegetable oils - corn and sunflower. For your information, I will say: tomatoes contain pectin substances, organic acids, nitrogenous substances, minerals (namely manganese - a trace element necessary for people engaged in mental work), vitamins C, group B (especially B-1), PP (nicotinic acid), vitamin K, carotene (provitamin A).

By the way, it is carrots that significantly inhibits the aging process, including in the brain. Also, rosemary and juniper have been used since ancient times to improve mental performance.

I will cite one wonderful recipe that is very useful for bronchial asthma, physical and mental exhaustion, shortness of breath, gastrointestinal diseases, weakness after a serious illness, generalized atherosclerosis (and, moreover, with atherosclerotic lesions of the cerebral vessels), to improve memory.

To prepare the medicine, pine cones are needed, certainly collected in May (!), While they are not ripe. Let's make pine honey. To prepare one kilogram, 70-80 cones are needed. You need to place cones in an enamel bowl, fill them with water (a little more than one liter) and cook for one hour. Readiness is determined when the buds are pierced with a fork. When the buds are soft, it's time to drain the water. A prerequisite is that unripe buds are used. Otherwise, they will never be pierced with a fork. Add one kilogram of sugar to a warm broth and cook until the sugar dissolves, then add a little citric acid so that the broth does not become sugared. This solution is stored in a cool dark place in a tightly sealed container. You need to use it one tablespoon three times a day with water, 30 - 40 minutes before meals.

Pine buds collected in early spring are also used to improve memory. The kidneys are washed and eat two or four things 1 - 2 times a day before meals. This has a very beneficial effect on the state of memory.
