Every day, a variety of factors - favorable and unfavorable - affect the hands, and especially the hands. Naturally, in most cases these are not cosmetic procedures that are beneficial for the skin and joints, but a large amount of chemicals, hot sun rays and a piercing wind.

The basis of washing powders, cleaning products and even soaps are chemical components that adversely affect the skin of the hands, and minor injuries that, as a rule, go unnoticed, can subsequently cause the development of fibroids - a benign formation. Fibroma is a kind of growth of collagen fibers, connective tissue and usually appears on the wrist or on the lateral side of the fingers. The subcutaneous tissue in these areas is thicker compared to the back of the hand.

Fibroma symptoms on the arm

The development of fibroids on the hand occurs gradually. At first, it is an inconspicuous nodule, then it is a small seal, and only after a fairly long period of time does a lump appear. Usually, the growth begins in the area of an insect bite or microtrauma, itching on the hands can also be attributed to indirect causes of the development of fibroids. As a result of constant scratching, areas of subcutaneous tissue are damaged and collagen fibers grow, which are the building material for neoplasm.

Fibroma on the finger

Only in rare cases does fibroma on the finger cause pain. Pain appears only when the lump reaches a large size and the lump puts pressure on the nerve endings. The skin over the tumor may darken slightly or retain its original color. Redness is rare, but usually not a sign of inflammation. The appearance of fibroma is possible in other parts of the body. The exact reasons for its formation have not been established by scientists to this day.

There are versions of a hereditary predisposition to this disease, as well as its development due to trauma and inflammatory diseases.

Causes of fibroma on the arm

To prevent the development of such an unpleasant cosmetic defect as fibroma on the hand, you should immediately take measures for the initial symptoms of vitamin deficiency, during which the skin on the fingers dries. The main reason for this symptom lies in the lack of vitamin A contained in nuts, carrots, and oily sea fish. Nutritional imbalances can be corrected by taking vitamins prescribed by your doctor or dietitian.

Dramatic weight loss also belongs to the risk factors for the appearance of fibroma due to vitamin deficiency and impaired metabolism. In this case, sagging skin appears on the body and hands, forming dry folds. Damage to the skin of the hands is also caused by regular exposure to adverse weather conditions (for example, due to professional needs), exposure to moisture and cold. The risk group in this case consists of representatives of blue-collar occupations and children.

Various diseases of the skin of the hands can be attributed to occupational diseases of car washers, cleaners and representatives of other professions, in which constant contact with water is assumed. Low and high temperatures, excessive moisture are also harmful to the skin - as a result of such adverse effects, inflamed areas and rashes appear on the skin of the hands, which is a risk of benign neoplasms.

Another important risk factor is exposure to chemical irritants that cause irritation and provoke the development of fibroids.

Diagnosis and prevention of fibroma on the arm

Prevention of the appearance of neoplasms on the hands is very simple, and will not cause difficulties even for very busy people. Protective rubber gloves should be worn when working with a wide variety of aggressive chemicals and water. After work, it is advisable to use a special protective cream. If the skin of your hands begins to dry, then you need to moisturize it with the help of special products.

If even a small seal appears on the skin of the hands, an urgent need to consult a qualified doctor - only he can correctly diagnose fibroma. Further, the doctor will without fail send the biomaterial obtained as a result of scraping to the laboratory for research. The study will show the presence or absence of malignant cells.

The main method of treatment for subcutaneous fibroma is surgical. Surgical intervention is performed using the traditional or laser method and leads to the removal of the neoplasm. If the lump has reached a fairly large size and after its elimination a scar will remain, experts recommend using the radio wave method. It eliminates heavy bleeding, and healing after it is much faster.
