Bronchial asthma is a complex chronic disease of the human respiratory system. It is manifested by attacks of suffocation, shortness of breath, accumulation of phlegm in the bronchi. The manifestations of the disease significantly impair the quality of life of a person suffering from this disease, affect the functioning of many organs and systems.

The unconventional asthma management suggested in this article is not an alternative to conservative treatment. They complement the medications prescribed by your doctor and can be used after consultation with a specialist.

Asthma treatment with the method of Dr. Batmanghelij

According to the Iranian doctor F. Batmanghelidj, dehydration of the human body and the development of bronchial asthma are two processes directly related to each other. The doctor made this discovery quite by accident while in prison. He cured his cellmate's severe stomach pain by offering him a few glasses of clean water. Interested in the obtained effect, F. Batmanghelidj summed up a theoretical basis for it, having written a large number of scientific papers on the medicinal properties of water.

He argues that the body's true need for water is manifested not only by dryness in the throat and a feeling of thirst. Local dehydration of parts of the patient's body leads to the appearance of various pathologies, including bronchial asthma.

The essence of this process is as follows:

  • Dehydrated microvessels of the bronchial mucosa provoke the release of histamine by mast cells.
  • The lack of water in the microvessels of the bronchial mucosa provokes their overflow with blood, and the inflammatory process begins.
  • Without the symbiosis of water and surfactant, the alveoli remain not fully lined with moisture, which leads to a decrease in tension forces in them. The alveoli in this state cannot completely push the exhaust air out.
  • There is little space for the incoming air, the asthmatic's body does not receive enough oxygen, and an attack of suffocation occurs.
  • An excess of histamine, produced in large quantities in the bronchi, leads to bronchospasm - a narrowing of the lumen of the bronchi and a strong contraction of their muscle walls. Coughing, shortness of breath, choking appear.

The cure of asthma according to the method of Dr. F. Batmanghelidj is not just about quenching thirst with water. You need to drink it according to a certain scheme: drink 2 glasses of liquid half an hour before meals and 1 glass of pure water 2.5 hours after it. Additionally, water is also taken to quench thirst. It is undesirable to drink alcohol and drinks containing caffeine during treatment, as they all contribute to dehydration.

Another important point is that in order to normalize the balance of trace elements in the body, you need to use ordinary salt, putting several of its crystals under the tongue after drinking it prescribed by this method. It is better if it is sea salt, although ordinary table salt will also work. Medicines prescribed by a doctor are taken in the same dosage. In addition, the dosage of vitamin and mineral complexes also increases, since with an increase in the volume of urine, the amount of micro- and macroelements necessary for the body increases with it.

Asthma and allergies arise from a crisis caused by an excess of acid metabolites and allergens. External manifestations mask the underlying problems that have arisen in the body due to lack of water. The drugs included in the treatment regimen for these diseases, over time, cease to show their effectiveness, and their dosage must be adjusted upward.

Following the method of F. Batmanghelidj, one can make sure that salted water clears the lungs of mucus and phlegm, stops dry cough, and increases the air exchange capacity of the lungs.

The author of the book suggests using the method of swinging the metabolic pendulum in the treatment of bronchial asthma:

  • Take salted water with ultra-fresh water in a 3: 1 ratio, that is, you consume salt water for 3 days and fresh water for 1 day. Alternation 6: 2 is possible. It would seem that taking slightly salted water is the opposite of taking ultra-fresh water and combining them in one treatment is absurd. However, this is not the case, practice has shown that these are two sides of one general method of treatment, which is to increase hydration and cleanse the body of allergens.
  • Water should not be boiled - dead water, aggravating the disease;
  • Living water is obtained by freezing it and thawing; melt water is used as ultra-fresh water;
  • Salted water is prepared like this: 1/2 tsp. the salts are dissolved in 10 glasses of water.

For asthma attacks. To relieve asthma attacks, put a pinch of salt on your tongue after drinking one or two glasses of water. Salt is a strong natural antihistamine, it relieves narrowing, microspasms of the bronchi. The use of salt is one of the most effective ways to relieve asthmatic attacks and treat asthma, subject to many months of treatment. It is as effective as an inhaler, but it is not toxic. Salt helps in clearing mucus and phlegm from the lungs, especially in asthma, emphysema, and cystic fibrosis.

Allergy. In turn, in case of allergies, the intake of ultra-fresh water in time should, on the contrary, 3 times exceed the intake of slightly salted water.

Warning! The proportions of salt and water must correspond to the needs of the body, be balanced. Excess salt must be flushed out with sufficient water. With pathologies of the heart and kidneys, you need to start with the minimum doses of salt, and it is best to drink only ultra-fresh water in the first 1-2 months. In order not to aggravate latent thirst, you do not need to drink coffee, tea, alcoholic drinks, Coca-Cola.

Respiratory gymnastics Strelnikova with asthma

This gymnastics was created several decades ago by the Russian singer A. N. Strelnikova, who lost her voice and tried to return it as a result of performing the breathing exercises she created. Several decades of work were crowned with success, and A. N. Strelnikova received a patent for the invention of a unique method of treating pathologies of the respiratory system.

This gymnastics is universal, it perfectly helps not only with breathing problems, but also contributes to the improvement of the organs of the genitourinary system of both men and women. Strelnikova's invention in some cases may become an alternative to traditional surgical and therapeutic treatment.

Basic principles of gymnastics:

  • The main method of breathing during exercise is “back breathing, which expands the lungs and saturates them with oxygen. Thanks to this, the respiratory organs are cleared of allergens, dust, and foreign particles.
  • Inhales are carried out with the nose, with strong movements with effort. In this case, exhalation occurs spontaneously.
  • Simultaneously with breathing exercises, the patient performs physical exercises.
  • Strelnikova gymnastics provides for the transition to the abdominal type of breathing using the diaphragm. This contributes to a better filling of the blood with oxygen, expansion of the lungs with the air that has been supplied in full.

Thanks to the regular performance of these exercises, the immunity and tone of the respiratory system are strengthened, blood flow improves, breathing is facilitated, bronchial spasm is relieved, and breathing becomes free.

Salt lamp and halotherapy for asthma

Tarragon

The positive effect of saline inhalation in bronchial asthma is undeniable. The only thing that does not contribute to their widespread use is moist air entering the bronchi and provoking their spasm and sputum production. Methods such as halotherapy and the use of a salt lamp are devoid of these disadvantages.

Treatment in natural salt caves is not available to all asthmatics. To alleviate their condition, artificial conditions are created, identical to those created by nature. These are halochambers, which are rooms in which specially prepared salt particles are sprayed with the help of a halogen generator. The air is ionized, which improves the condition of asthma patients.

Results of treatment in the halochamber:

  • Improves bronchial drainage and sputum discharge;
  • The intensity of inflammation decreases;
  • The microflora of the respiratory system is recovered due to the bactericidal effect;
  • The immune system of the patient's body is restored;
  • A large number of patients have coughs, runny nose, shortness of breath, and sleep is normalized.

Halotherapy can be taken not only for patients with asthma, but also for the prevention of respiratory pathologies for workers in hazardous industries, for children and adults with allergic manifestations, for people living in regions that are unfavorable for the environment.

The same effect, only to a lesser degree, is possessed by salt lamps created on the basis of Himalayan salt more than 250 million years old. The salt lamp emits negative ions during operation, which allows you to clean the air in the room, prevent asthma manifestations, and reduce the concentration of mold fungi and microorganisms.

How to choose a salt lamp?

It is important to choose a quality salt lamp for optimal performance. To do this, you need to follow a few simple rules:

  • For a room with a volume of up to 15 m 2, a lamp weighing up to 3 kg is sufficient. A large area of the room requires the purchase of a lamp weighing up to 5 kg. Very large air handling facilities may require multiple purchase. One saline lamp can be placed near the chair or bed in which the patient is located.
  • You need to choose a crystal without cracks, chips or other damage. Microcracks of natural origin are allowed, which is most often found in untreated crystals.
  • Salt lamp components must be stable, durable and of high quality, without defects or distortions. It is desirable that the lamp be mounted on a wide stand.
  • It is advisable to purchase a lamp that meets aesthetic requirements after high-quality grinding, although this is, in principle, secondary.

It is undesirable to place the lamp in a damp room, wipe it from dust with a wet cloth. After drying, the lamp fully retains its valuable properties.

Preventive measures

Preventive measures
Preventive measures

In order to prevent the occurrence of this disease or the development of complications, primary and secondary prevention is used. At risk are smokers with experience, patients with allergies or atopic dermatitis, those who have a family predisposition to this disease, persons with hazardous working conditions.

Primary prevention for people at risk:

  • Reducing contact with allergens;
  • Strict adherence to hygiene measures for the maintenance of residential and office premises;
  • Change of place of residence to more environmentally friendly regions;
  • Healthy food;
  • Quitting bad habits (smoking, alcohol);
  • Coordination of the dosage of the medications taken with the attending physician.

Secondary prophylaxis to alleviate the condition of patients with bronchial asthma, prevent asthma attacks and progression of the disease:

  • Thorough cleaning of the home from objects that can concentrate dust: carpets, old upholstered furniture and mattresses, soft toys, heavy curtains, old books, indoor plants, replacement of bed linen and towels with brand new ones;
  • Strict hygienic requirements for cleaning residential and office premises: refusal of household chemicals, use for cleaning only baby soap and microfiber napkins and towels.
  • Replacing old double-glazed windows with new, sealed ones.
  • Purchase of an air conditioner with an ionizer to prevent pollen from flowering plants from entering the room;
  • Fight against clutter in the premises, the development of molds;
  • Refusal to keep pets, aquarium fish;
  • Exclusion from the menu of food with flavorings, preservatives, allergens;
  • To give up smoking;
  • Control over the condition of indoor air by collecting samples.

These measures for the prevention of exacerbations will be even more effective with careful observance of the doctor's recommendations, the use of breathing exercises, and regular spa treatment according to the profile of the disease.
