Botanical characteristics of the orange

The orange is a short evergreen tree with long, thin branches and sharp thorns. The leaves of the plant are alternate, shiny, green above, and light green below. Translucent containers of essential oil are visible on the leaves. The leaves are located on broad-winged petioles that taper towards the base. Large flowers smell nice, are located one by one and are collected in several pieces in bunches. The calyx consists of 4–5 teeth. The corolla has 4–8 white petals, which have a narrowly oblong shape.
The fruit of the orange is berry-like, flattened, with a thick peel, with irregularities on the surface. The peel of the fruit is bright orange in color, it is easily separated from the pulp. Inside, the fruit is divided into 12 slices, which are bitter and sour in taste. The seeds of the plant are light yellow, furrowed.
Blossoming of the orange begins in April and lasts only a month. Fruits ripen from November to January. This plant does not grow wild. It is grown in Southeast Asia, in the Caucasus, in the Mediterranean countries.
Useful properties of orange
Due to its chemical composition, the orange has many beneficial substances that have an impact on the emotional sphere. The scent of this plant is used for depression, to stimulate the body. Orange restores skin elasticity, shrinks pores, and is also a tonic.
Orange has antiseptic, choleretic and analgesic properties. This plant has anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic effects on the body. Orange heals wounds, cures coughs, improves memory. The plant is used as a laxative, antispasmodic and diaphoretic. Orange seeds help increase appetite, reduce chest pain. This plant is used for inflammation of the testicles, cough and hernia.
Application of orange

Orange juice is used as an excellent bactericidal agent, and it is also used to gargle sore throat. A tampon soaked in this juice stops nosebleeds. Orange juice mixed with sugar has a choleretic effect. Orange is used to lower blood pressure and as a hangover relief agent. Orange membranes are used to strengthen the heart muscles and the nervous system.
Orange peel strengthens the muscles of the heart and stomach. To do this, you need to dry the peel and crush it in a mortar. Take 10 grams of the finished powder and take with water. Thanks to this medicine, vomiting and cardiac arrhythmias will disappear. For headaches, you need to prepare the following ointment: take the crushed orange peel and mix with vinegar. The finished ointment must be applied to the temples.
The grains of this medicinal plant have an antidote effect on snake and poisonous insect bites.
Collection for insomnia. Take 10 grams of valerian root, the same amount of lemon balm leaf and hops. Add 10 grams of orange flowers here and mix everything well. We take 2 teaspoons of this collection and pour a glass of boiling water. Put on fire for 5 minutes, covered with a lid. Tea should be taken in the amount of 1 cup in the evening warm. If you wish, you can add some honey to the tea.
A soothing collection of orange. To prepare it, you need to combine 20 grams of lemon balm leaves with 10 grams of St. John's wort, add 10 grams of orange flowers and 5 grams of rose hips to them. We take 1 tablespoon of the ready-made collection, pour 100 grams of boiling water and put on fire for 5 minutes. Having filtered the finished tea, we take it in a cup three times a day.
Herbal tea for appetite. You need to take 10 grams of orange peel, the same amount of centaury grass and rose hips. We take 1 teaspoon of this collection and scald with a glass of boiling water. Leave to brew for 5 minutes and filter. Ready tea is taken warm before meals.
Orange vodka. To prepare it, you need to take 1 teaspoon of dry orange peel and pour it over with two glasses of vodka. Leave the mixture to infuse for 14 days. After straining the vodka, it is used in the form of compresses or for rubbing with injuries and problems with joints.
Contraindications to the use of orange
At the moment, there have been no contraindications to the use of this plant and preparations from it.
