Botanical characteristics of the hawk
The hairy hawk is a short perennial plant with a creeping rhizome and shoots with long hairs. The stem of the plant is erect, having not only long hairs, but also a basket at the top. Above, the leaves are green, and the underside is white-felt. The basal leaves of the plant are dull, they taper into a petiole. In the basket at the top of the stem are reed flowers, each of which consists of 5 cloves and the same number of stamens. The flowers are light yellow, bisexual and have a pleasant smell. The fruit of the plant is a cylinder-shaped achene, dark red in color. Each achene has 9 longitudinal ribs.
Yastrebinka blooms in late spring - early summer. This plant is found in meadows, forests, slopes, fields and wastelands. The hawk grows in Ukraine, the Caucasus, Belarus and Western Siberia.
Useful properties of the hawk
Yastrebinka has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antiseptic properties. In addition, this plant is used as an astringent and diuretic. Hawkfish reduces the level of harmful substances in human blood. The plant is recommended to be used for headaches as a good pain reliever. The hawk has antiemetic properties. This plant can even cope with insomnia.
The hawk grass has a strong hemostatic property, therefore it is used as a means for compresses that are applied to bleeding wounds.
Application of the hawk
Traditional medicine uses the herb and all parts of the hawk in the treatment of many diseases. The plant is used to enhance the secretion of gastric juice. A decoction of hawk grass helps with hemorrhoids, liver diseases, hemoptysis, jaundice and dysentery. In addition, a decoction of the plant is recommended to be used in the treatment of kidney stones, anemia, dropsy and spleen diseases.
A decoction of the inflorescences of the plant helps to cure stomach diseases, pulmonary tuberculosis and leucorrhoea, and improve appetite. Broth rinse the throat with sore throat, lubricate the bites of snakes, rabid animals. A decoction of the hawk helps with festering wounds: the wounds are washed with it. Fresh leaves of the plant are used in the form of compresses for abscesses.
Yastrebinka has a good effect on the body in the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the prostate.
Alcohol tincture of hawkworm is used for stones in the bladder or kidney. Spermatorrhea is also treated with an alcoholic tincture of the plant.
Water infusion is used for hepatitis, edema, bloody diarrhea, gastritis with low acidity of the stomach. A bad runny nose can be treated with hawkworm leaf powder, which you just need to sniff.
Tincture of the hawk is instilled in the form of drops in the treatment of stomach ulcers, malaria and urolithiasis. A decoction of the hawk helps to improve vision, the same remedy is used for diarrhea in babies.
Hawkeye tea for gargling. Take 1 teaspoon of the herb and pour 100 ml of boiling water. Leave for 10 minutes, then strain. Take tea as needed in the amount of 1 cup per day. If sore throat is treated with this tea, then it is consumed 2 glasses a day for several days.
Infusion of the hawk. We take 10 grams of dry herb and pour 2 cups of boiling water. We leave everything to brew for 3 hours. After straining the finished infusion, it is consumed 50 ml 3 times a day before meals.
Hawk leaf powder. Take fresh hawk leaves and grind them into a fine powder. Ready powder is taken in the treatment of jaundice, 1 teaspoon three times a day.
Tincture of hawkworm. To prepare this tincture, you need to take 10 grams of a flowering plant and pour 100 ml of vodka. We leave the composition in a cool and dark room for 7 days to infuse. The tincture should be shaken periodically.
Contraindications to the use of the hawk
The hawk is a poisonous plant, therefore it is necessary to use drugs from it only in small doses and under the supervision of a doctor.
