Larch sponge
Useful properties and use of larch sponge
Useful properties of larch sponge
Larch sponge is a fungus that parasitizes the trunks of larch and other coniferous trees. It contains fatty oil, organic acids, mineral salts, resins, phytosterols, glucose, lafinol polysaccharide and other useful substances. In medical practice, use is made of its fruit body, cleansed of the bark of the host tree. It should be white, young and not coarse. Medicinal raw materials are collected in spring and in the first half of summer.
The medicinal properties of the mushroom have been known since ancient times. Even the great healer Ibn Sina, about 1000 years ago, pointed out the effectiveness of using a larch sponge for medicinal purposes. He wrote that preparations from it help with asthma and ulcers, soothe the nerves, are effective for hemoptysis, and are useful for jaundice caused by blockages in the liver.
The composition and properties of this mushroom were thoroughly investigated by H. Hager in 1889, providing detailed information about it in his application guide. In the late 18th and early 19th centuries, the larch sponge was used as one of the main ingredients for the preparation of the "elixirs of life". However, today it is one of the undeservedly forgotten drugs, the study of which modern science is not properly engaged in.
Larch sponge application
In folk medicine, mushroom preparations are used as a hemostatic, sedative, diuretic, hypnotic and laxative. In complex therapy, drugs are effective in chemotherapy, diabetes and pulmonary diseases, including tuberculosis and asthma. Among other things, debilitating sweating decreases in tuberculosis patients.
Mushroom decoctions are prescribed for overweight and metabolic disorders, they help well with feverish conditions and increased thyroid function. They can be used during and after the course of deworming.
Broth: 1 tablespoon of the crushed fruiting body of the mushroom must be poured with 350 ml of water, boiled in a water bath for 20-25 minutes, let it brew for at least 4 hours and strain. The broth is taken orally 1 tablespoon 3-4 times a day.
Infusion: a teaspoon of crushed sponge should be insisted in a glass of boiling water, poured into a thermos. Usually 2-3 hours are enough for the preparation of the infusion, but if necessary, it can be left overnight. Dosage - 3-4 times a day, 1 tablespoon of drink before meals.
Larch Slimming Sponge
As the experience of Japanese doctors shows, preparations from larch sponge are able to restore impaired liver functions in terms of splitting fats, therefore they are widely used in diets for weight loss. Even during the research, scientists isolated a very useful polysaccharide from the fruiting body of the fungus and named it lanophil. This substance normalizes the liver's production of enzymes necessary to restore impaired metabolism, which naturally leads to weight loss.
No diet, no hunger strike, or any other means gives such an effect. All known drugs for weight loss work for the result, that is, for the splitting of an already formed fat cell. However, subcutaneous fat is restored very quickly when the liver is working in the same mode, so the main task for losing weight is to force the liver to produce the necessary enzymes in the proper quality and quantity. This is exactly the effect on the liver of the polysaccharide lanophil contained in the larch sponge.
Contraindications to the use of larch sponge
There are no special contraindications to the use of a medicinal mushroom, except perhaps an increased sensitivity to its components. The use of larch sponge preparations during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended. With the abuse of this medicinal agent and non-compliance with dosages, vomiting, dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, and a feeling of general malaise may occur.
