Medunka is an unusual herb that can be both annual and biennial. Medunka has a straight branched stem, the height of which ranges from 30 to 80 cm. The upper leaves are lanceolate-wedge-shaped and the lower ones are oblong. Graceful flowers of blue or purple hue form long brushes.

This herb has a long root with small tubers. Medunka is common in western Asia and Africa. The fruit is represented by a sickle-shaped, single-seeded bean with an interesting spiral. Such an amazing plant prefers to settle in the steppes, in the fields and between bushes.

Useful properties of honey

In order to use honeycomb for medicinal purposes, it should be harvested during flowering. It is necessary to dry the grass under sheds, and store it in tight fabric bags or paper bags. Medunka preparations are effective in treating various respiratory diseases. They are indicated for the treatment of childhood tuberculosis. All kinds of water infusions of honeycomb are used for prolonged cough, with inflammation of the kidneys. In addition, such an excellent diuretic is indicated for urolithiasis.

It should be noted that this plant is known for its unique hemostatic properties, thanks to which it is possible to relieve the condition with heavy menstrual bleeding, as well as with hemorrhoids and stomach bleeding. To restore the microflora of the vagina, various lotions and sessile baths based on medunka are prescribed.

Fresh leaves of the plant have hemostatic, wound-healing, astringent and antiseptic properties. They are great for fresh cuts. The high iodine content allows the herb to be used as an antiseptic. In addition, medunka contains ascorbic acid, carotene, tannins, rutin, polyphenols, manganese, potassium, copper, calcium and iron.

Application of medunka

For lung diseases, you can use an infusion of leaves, prepared from two teaspoons of herbs and 200 grams of boiling water. The mixture should be infused for about two hours. The course of treatment involves taking the infusion 3 times a day, 1 tablespoon. In addition, such a remedy will help to cope with hoarseness, sore throat, hemorrhoids, kidney inflammation, and also helps to remove stones from the bladder.

It is recommended to apply a gruel from fresh crushed honeycomb leaves to fresh wounds, due to which rapid healing occurs. It should also be noted that for medicinal purposes, a special agent is used based on canned juice of grass and leaves in combination with 70 percent alcohol at a ratio of 1: 5.

Medunka is the softest

Perennial medunka is the softest - this is a unique herb that has a powerful dark brown rhizome and a huge number of adventitious roots. Low pubescent stems up to 20 cm high are complemented by elongated leaves with short hairs. The fruit of the plant is a small black nut.

The softest medunka blooms, as a rule, from the first days of May until the end of June. It is widespread in the foothills of Altai, in Transbaikalia and Siberia. The grass prefers mixed and pine forests, forest glades and birch groves.

Contraindications to the use of honey

So far, no contraindications to taking medunka have been identified.
