The experience of home treatment for bursitis offers various options. Including the simplest ones. For example, a compress of salt. One tablespoon of salt is diluted in half a liter of boiling water. Flannel or coarse wool is moistened in the solution. A compress is applied to the sore joint and covered with cling film on top. Hold for five to eight hours, preferably at night. The compress is done once a day for a week.
This salt "bath" forces the fluid accumulated inside the joint to escape. This is how the osmosis effect manifests itself.
Cabbage against inflammation
Another famous folk remedy for bursitis is cabbage leaf. A large leaf of white cabbage is beaten off a little with a wooden mallet so that juice appears. Then the affected area is smeared with honey and covered with a sheet, on top - with a film and a thick cloth.
In combination with honey, cabbage juice has a good anti-inflammatory effect.
Bathing in herbs
It is useful for bursitis to take baths with herbs or needles:
- To prepare a bath with a decoction of hay dust, you need to bring four liters of water to a boil. Then pour one kilogram of dust into the water and boil for half an hour over low heat. After that strain the broth and pour into the bath.
- A famous recipe is a pine needle bath. She will need a large bucket of pine cones and needles. They are poured with boiling water, and then left to infuse for six hours. The broth is filtered and used for taking a bath.
Honey ointment
An effective home remedy for bursitis is a honey-based ointment. The ratio is two parts of honey (liquid), three parts of ethyl alcohol and one more part of aloe juice.
In the case of chronic bursitis, honey is mixed with twisted onions and grated laundry soap. You will need a pound of honey, one large onion, and a bar of soap. This mixture is used for compresses that are made before bed for three weeks.
Propolis compress
According to some patients, the use of propolis tincture gives a good effect. It is used for lotions - once daily for several days.
Healing balm
Another remedy for bursitis is horse chestnut balm. For its preparation, one bottle of pharmacy bile is mixed with two glasses of chopped chestnuts and three finely chopped aloe leaves.
All this is mixed and two glasses of alcohol with a strength of seventy degrees are added. The dishes with balm are placed in a dark place and left there for ten days. Then the mixture is used for compresses, which are applied to the sore joint at night.
Rehabilitate in time
Home remedies for bursitis usually last for three weeks. During this period, the patient may experience pain due to the active formation of scar tissue in the joint.
