Healing baths have a relaxing and invigorating effect. Therefore, they are used both in folk and traditional medicine to treat not only sciatica, but also many other diseases of the heart, liver, and nerves. Baths are also used to maintain strength after suffering serious illnesses, help the body cope with asthma and other diseases of the respiratory system.
Coniferous baths are very popular for these purposes. First you need to prepare a concentrated decoction from a kilogram of pine shoots. They are poured with three liters of hot water and insisted under the lid for 4 hours. The filtered agent is added to the bath in the ratio of broth and water to 1:15.
Horseradish baths are also considered curative for sciatica. It is grated and wrapped in cheesecloth, dipped into the bath. In this case, the water temperature should be 36–37 ° С.
You can also add angelica decoction to the bath. 150 grams of its crushed roots are boiled for half an hour in a liter of water, and then, having insisted for two hours, filtered and poured into the bath.
All medicinal baths are recommended to be taken at least 10-12 minutes before bedtime. The procedures should be carried out every day for a week.

Sciatica treatment with infusions and decoctions
In folk medicine for sciatica, infusions of various medicinal plants are often used, which are taken orally. They help relieve pain and stop inflammation.
Very often, calendula infusion is used to combat this ailment. A glass of boiling water will need a tablespoon of inflorescences. Flowers are poured with hot water and infused for a couple of hours. On the day, prepare a double rate of the given recipe and drink it in 4 doses before meals.
For advanced or chronic sciatica, elecampane tincture is recommended. Boil 1 tablespoon of its roots for five minutes in a glass of water. The resulting broth is divided into two parts and consumed in the morning and evening before meals.
Horse chestnut is considered a very popular remedy for sciatica. You can prepare a decoction from its leaves by cutting them and pouring half a liter of boiling water. After that, you should boil the composition for a quarter of an hour, strain from the sediment and drink four times throughout the day.
You can also use shredded horse chestnut seeds for this recipe instead of leaves. Only in this case, the product is not boiled, but insisted on a water bath for one hour. It should be taken the same way.

For the treatment of sciatica, you can use not only water infusions. For example, twice a day, you can use a tincture of 1 tbsp. tablespoons of burdock, boiled for 5 minutes in 250 ml of red wine.
It is often recommended to combine treatment with infusions and decoctions with a course of manual therapy or massage.
Sciatica treatment with compresses
There are many popular recipes for treating sciatica with compresses that are applied to the sore spot. They all have a warming effect and relieve pain.
Black radish for compress is cleaned, grated and wrapped in natural fabric (linen or cotton), applied to the lower back. Cover with parchment paper and tied with a woolen scarf or shawl. Almost immediately, from this compress, a burning and tingling sensation begins to be felt, so it is kept as long as patience is enough.
Also, with sciatica, a compress of dough helps. You will need rye flour for it, and you need to start the procedure when the dough turns sour. It is wrapped in gauze and applied to the sore spot for the whole night.
It is advisable to additionally wrap all compresses with woolen cloth to enhance the warming effect, and the number of procedures to achieve a positive result should be at least 10.
