Garlic for pancreatitis: recipes using garlic

Garlic
Garlic

Garlic contains iron, magnesium, manganese, zinc, ascorbic acid, B vitamins, beta-carotene and has numerous beneficial properties:

  • Strengthens the immune system and is an effective means of preventing and treating colds;
  • Improves vision;
  • Stimulates metabolism;
  • Improves the taste of food and increases appetite;
  • Contains a large number of phytoncides that kill bacteria, protozoa and fungi or inhibit their growth;
  • Promotes the processes of hematopoiesis, accelerates blood flow, prevents the development of atherosclerosis, lowers blood pressure and generally normalizes the state of the cardiovascular system due to the content of allicin;
  • Is the optimal prophylactic agent for helminthic invasions

Allicin, which gives fresh garlic a pungent and pungent taste and is formed by the destruction of a garlic clove from alliin and the enzyme allicinase, is a fairly poisonous substance. In large quantities, it not only has the ability to destroy worms, microbes, bacteria, but also the ability to infect living healthy cells of the body. With excessive use of garlic, inhibition of intellectual activity is observed, attention is scattered, and a headache may occur. Also, garlic can provoke epileptic seizures in patients with this disease - this is a proven fact.

Garlic provokes an intense release of pancreatic juice, and since pancreatic ducts are narrowed during pancreatitis, an incomplete outflow of juice occurs, the gland becomes inflamed and begins to digest itself. This inevitably leads to a relapse of the disease and can lead to serious complications. Therefore, fresh garlic should also not be eaten for gastritis, stomach ulcers, gallstone disease and other gastrointestinal diseases.

During the period of acute pancreatitis and in the early years of the disease with chronic pancreatitis, it is strictly forbidden to eat garlic. The use of garlic is allowed with persistent remissions, but only after heat treatment. If you eat just one clove of raw garlic, then even with a stable remission, this in almost 100% of cases leads to an exacerbation of pancreatitis.

How to use garlic in this case? For example, when dressing a salad, you can pour it with well-heated sunflower oil: this will significantly improve the taste of the garlic itself and weaken its properties harmful to patients with pancreatitis. When preparing a salad of carrots, Peking cabbage or seaweed, garlic is poured over with boiling water. When determining the amount of garlic that can be eaten, a person should be guided by their own feelings and experiences. After eating garlic, it is recommended to drink herbal teas.

For the above reasons, you should be very careful about recipes for traditional medicine using garlic, for example, as follows:

Grind in a meat grinder 300 grams of parsley, 300 grams of garlic and 1 kg of lemons together with the peel, but remove the seeds. Place the resulting mass in an enamel pan and leave for 2 weeks. in the refrigerator. Consume 1 tsp. spoon in 15 minutes. before meals a maximum of three times a day. To enhance the action, you can prepare a special infusion and drink the resulting medicinal mixture with it: take in the same parts the leaves of lingonberry, blueberry, strawberry, bean pods and corn silk, chop thoroughly, place 1 table. spoon the mixture into a thermos, pour a glass of boiling water overnight and leave until morning.
