The homeland of the alpine erythematosus is the east of France and the west of Yugoslavia. But this plant is also found in the European part of Russia.

Field erythematosus

Field erythematosus is a beautiful herb with a thick, branched stem. Such an interesting perennial has sedentary rigid and rather spiny leaf plates. The multi-flowered capitate inflorescences of the field erythematosus are surrounded by a special envelope of leaves with protruding thorns. The lignified rhizome of a brownish hue is very thick and rounded. The birthplace of such a plant is the Baltic countries.

The field erythematosus blooms with whitish flowers from early July to mid-September. It usually settles on sandy slopes, wastelands, slopes, poor meadows and roadsides.

Giant erythematosus is the tallest species of the presented plants, which reaches one and a half meters in height. This biennial herb has leathery whole leaves that sit on long stalks. The sea erythematosus is an interesting perennial, which often does not grow taller than 70 cm. It has thick, branched stems of an unusual bluish tint. The petiolate basal leaves are heart-shaped. Such leathery solid plates delight with a spiny-toothed edge. The pale blue flowers are collected in beautiful capitate spherical inflorescences.

The homeland of this plant is the Crimea and the Baltic States, and the seaweed is also found in Western Europe and the Transcaucasia.
