Treatment of sinusitis with cyclamen
Even in ancient times, it was noticed that cyclamen effectively helps to heal sinusitis. The experience of ancient aesculapians was adopted by modern pharmacologists, actively using the healing properties of this perennial to create medicines that help in the treatment of inflammatory processes of the upper respiratory tract, which are significantly aggravated with the onset of autumn cold weather. And sinusitis holds the palm among them.
When the disease proceeds in an acute form, antibacterial medications are successfully used to treat it. If the process has passed into a chronic stage, then along with large material and time costs, a very weak healing effect is observed.
In this regard, a large number of people susceptible to this ailment prefer not to become patients of otorhinolaryngological departments of hospitals, but to resort to traditional medicine, in particular to treatment with cyclamen, which has proven itself well over the years.

What is cyclamen?
Cyclamen is one of the representatives of perennial herbaceous plants. He came to us from the Mediterranean and Asia Minor, but got accustomed well here too. Cyclamine and saponins, abundant in the tubers of the plant, normalize the hormonal environment, improve the reflex secretion of mucous membranes, producing an irritating effect, helping them to regenerate and self-purify faster, have a calming effect and the ability to counteract inflammatory processes.
Poisonous substances can accumulate in the flowers of the plant. Therefore, the use of drugs based on it requires careful attention to dosage. In case of an overdose, the occurrence of vomiting, seizures, allergic reactions, malfunctions of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems is often noted.
Using folk recipes based on cyclamen, you can successfully treat a runny nose, sinusitis, sinusitis, adenoids, nasal polyps, arthritis, headaches.
The process of growing a plant at home will not cause much difficulty. On the basis of crushed tubers, you can make all kinds of drops, tinctures, decoctions and ointments.
Methods for preparing medicines from cyclamen:
-
Drops. To make drops, you need to take the cyclamen root previously washed in running water and grind it with a grater. The juice formed after filtering the resulting mass, dilute with water and put in the refrigerator.
When the solution is ready for a week, every morning, instill 2 drops in each nostril. It is recommended to lie down for ten minutes after the procedure. Get up and drink honey herbal decoction. On the second or third day, the results will not be long in coming.
The advantages of this method of treatment are obvious - the positive effect becomes noticeable rather quickly. The disadvantages include the fact that the occurrence of allergic reactions, accompanied by burning and pain in the nose, coughing, sneezing and increased sweating, is very likely. In case of a slight manifestation of such symptoms, you should immediately consult a doctor!
-
Ointment. The juice from the roots of cyclamen is widely used as a basis for the manufacture of ointments for sinusitis. In this case, it is mixed with the juice of aloe, onion, Kalanchoe and Vishnevsky ointment. The resulting substance is coated with cotton or gauze tampons and placed in the nostrils for 30-40 minutes every day. The course of treatment continues for three weeks.
- Infusion. The proportions for tincture of cyclamen should be as follows: two grams of crushed root are poured with 100 ml of boiling water and kept for an hour. Next, one teaspoon of the resulting infusion is diluted in a liter of boiling water and 4-5 times a day for a week, two drops are instilled into each nasal passage.

Pharmacy. If for some reason it was not possible to acquire the root of the plant, then the drug "Sinuforte" will come to the rescue, made in the form of a spray, which can be bought in almost every pharmacy (unfortunately, the drug is expensive, and this medicine will be enough for you for 7 days) … It cleans the nasal cavity well from the fluid formed there, thinning pus and reducing the swelling of the mucous membrane, which, as a rule, leads to a quick recovery. During the course of treatment lasting 7 days, 2-3 injections are performed daily. If you strictly adhere to this treatment regimen, you can achieve a stable remission and forget about sinusitis for a long time.
Since cyclamen has some toxic properties, it is necessary to make preparations based on it taking precautions: carefully monitor the dosage of the drug, wash your hands after contact with it, keep away from children!

Reviews on the treatment of sinusitis with cyclamen
Andrey, 35 years old: “Based on my personal experience, I can confidently say about the effectiveness of using cyclamen for treating sinusitis. True, he was treated not with the remedy I made, but with Sinuforte, bought at the pharmacy. After the first application, the sensations, of course, are far from pleasant! A huge amount of liquid literally poured from my nose. Moreover, all this was accompanied by an unbearable burning sensation. On the second day, on the other hand, I received a reward for the discomfort I experienced - a welcome relief. It feels like the sinuses were flushed out without seeking help from doctors!"
Inna, 25 years old: “I really love indoor floriculture. Among my houseplants, there is also cyclamen, which I adore for its beautiful flowers. And then one of the winters such an unpleasant thing happened to me as sinusitis. I remembered my grandmother's stories about the healing properties of cyclamen, and the idea arose to independently make drops from it. Everything was crowned with success! The resulting medicine is in no way inferior to the pharmacy, and maybe even better! After the first day of taking it, I was disappointed because I experienced a terrible burning sensation and the swelling worsened. But it turned out that everything is as it should be. In a few days, not a trace of the disease remained! Now I love my cyclamen even more!"
Anna, 38 years old: “When my sinusitis worsens, unbearable headaches come, and my face swells to such an extent that it’s just awful! I had to pierce the sinuses and do the washing. Now I gradually forget about these painful procedures, because cyclamen helps me!"
