In the last days of summer, the berries of the plant turn pink, which at the beginning of autumn will be coral in color. The berries contain many reddish-brown seeds. Lingonberry bears fruit only two years after its planting. Propagated most often in a vegetative way (using rhizome segments). Lingonberry is a perennial plant with a lifespan of 300 years. This plant grows throughout the CIS. Lingonberries can be seen in forests, on hummocks near swamps, between other bushes. Lingonberries grow best in acidic and poor soil.

Useful properties of lingonberry

For medicinal purposes, the fruits and leaves of the plant are used. Preparations made from leaves are used as a diuretic, disinfectant and choleretic agent. Lingonberry leaves contain tannic compounds, due to which preparations based on lingonberry leaves have an anti-inflammatory and bactericidal effect on the body.

The catechins contained in lingonberries strengthen the capillaries and reduce their fragility. The leaves of the plant are astringent and antiseptic. The leaves are used to treat gout, gastritis, liver, etc.

The fresh fruits of the plant are useful for treating hypertension or as a means to improve vision. And a mixture of lingonberries with honey helps with tuberculosis or coughing up blood.

Lingonberry leaves contain ascorbic acid, carotene, potassium and manganese salts, and organic acids such as acetic, malic and citric.

Lingonberries also contain malic, citric and tartaric acids, essential oils, pectins and polyphenols. The taiga berry is an environmentally friendly product; it grows in forests without chemical fertilizers.

Lingonberries are harvested by hand, they are ideal as food for pregnant women, hypoallergenic. During the period of childbearing, lingonberry juice containing carotene and ascorbic acid is especially useful in the winter months: in addition to saturation with vitamins, it eliminates the risk of catching a cold. Vitamins E and B are involved in the work of the muscular system, the excellent condition of which is so important during childbirth, they support the normal nervous system, improve mood and eliminate depression.

With the help of vitamin P, blood pressure is normalized, edema subsides. Calcium is involved in the formation of the skeleton of the unborn baby, strengthens the tooth enamel and the skeletal system of the mother. Lingonberry will become the prevention and the first assistant in the treatment of the disease. The huge content of vitamins C and B2, manganese oxide, potassium and organic acids helps to eliminate inflammatory processes and, as a rule, relieves cystitis for a long time.

Recipe number 1: 1 tablespoon of lingonberry leaves must be insisted for one hour in a glass of boiling water and take 0.5 cups 3 times a day before meals.

Recipe number 1: you should mix 3 parts of lingonberry leaves, 2 parts of fireweed, sage, tricolor violet, meadowsweet, crushed dandelion roots and leaves, 1 part of mint, marshmallow root and chamomile. Then 1 tablespoon of the mixture must be poured into a thermos, pour 0.5 liters of hot water, leave for 1 hour. The remedy should be drunk according to the scheme: for 3 days, take 8 times a day for a quarter of a glass of infusion, then daily reduce the number of doses to four times. Infusion can be used for douching procedures. Ripe berries (up to a kilogram per day), fruit drinks and preserves, adherence to a diet during the treatment period have a positive effect on recovery.

Decoctions, infusion and juice from fruits are used for vitamin deficiency, rheumatism. Lingonberry juice has a tonic and tonic effect against colds, malaria, diabetes and stomach tumors. Considering the fact that the fruits increase visual acuity in humans, they are recommended for use by pilots, drivers, sailors - in general, to those people who strain their eyesight while working.

Lingonberry recipes

A decoction of lingonberry leaves. It is used for urolithiasis. To prepare it, you will need 2 tablespoons of leaves and 1 cup of boiling water. We put all this in an enamel bowl and cover with a lid, put in a water bath for half an hour, cool for about 10 minutes and filter. What is left must be squeezed out. Dilute the volume obtained after the water bath with another 200 ml of boiled water. You need to store the broth for no more than two days, but in a cool place. Such a decoction should be taken daily 2-3 times, 60-80 ml.

Lingonberry tea. It is prepared as follows: you need to take 1 teaspoon of crushed leaves, pour a glass of boiling water and leave it all for half an hour to infuse. You need to take this tea half an hour before meals, 3 times 50-100 ml. This tea helps with chronic gastritis, because all the tannins are preserved in the finished tea.

Lingonberry water. It is prepared as follows: take a glass jar and pour the lingonberry fruits into it, fill it with cold boiled water and close it with a plastic bag very tightly. Store it in a cool place. Used as a laxative.

Infusion of lingonberry leaves. It's easy to cook. You need to take 4 teaspoons of chopped leaves and pour half a liter of boiling water, put in a water bath for a quarter of an hour (in an enamel bowl). Next, cool the composition for 45 minutes, filter through a three-layer gauze. Do not forget to bring the infusion to its original volume with ordinary boiled water. You need to take it every day before meals, 50 ml.

Lingonberry infusion. Take 200 grams of the fruit of the plant, rinse with boiling water in a colander. Next, pour 400 ml of cold boiled water over the fruits and leave for 6 hours. Take half a cup before meals 4 times every day for kidney disease, liver disease, gastritis, colitis and even constipation.

Decoction for rinsing. Pour 10 grams of dried lingonberry leaves with 200 ml of boiling water, put in a water bath for 25 minutes. After you need to strain the broth, bring to volume with one glass of water. This remedy should be used to rinse your mouth for stomatitis, gum disease and periodontal disease. The interval between rinses should be 2-3 hours.

To prepare fortified tea with a fortifying effect, you can use fresh or dry raw materials.

Recipe number 1: 1 teaspoon of leaves should be brewed in 250 milliliters of boiling water and infused for half an hour. Drink on an empty stomach in the morning, before meals at lunchtime, and in the evening. After drinking tea every day, digestion improves, stool normalizes.

A decoction of lingonberry leaves: pour 2 tablespoons of raw materials with 1 cup of boiling water, soak in a water bath for 30 minutes, cool, bring the volume to 200 ml.

This broth can be used for colds, for gargling with sore throat.

Infusion of lingonberry leaves: 100 g of lingonberry leaf is poured over 2.5 liters of boiling water, after two hours of infusion, filter and add 250 ml of vodka. Simmer for 15 minutes over low heat, without bringing to a boil. Take 100 g 3 times a day 30 minutes before meals for 6 months. The infusion cures rheumatism, helps to get rid of sand in the kidneys and bladder.

The use of lingonberry leaves will allow you to live without toxins. There are many recipes, healers willingly share them with people, passing on this knowledge from generation to generation.
