Body paralysis
Paralysis of the whole body is expressed by the complete loss of control over one's own body and the absence of voluntary movements. A person cannot move independently, he becomes dependent on other people. This dangerous disease is an ordeal for the victim himself, as well as for his family. Still, there is hope for recovery? Body paralysis is the complete loss of the muscle's ability to move.
This happens as a result of damage to nerve fibers. As practice shows, various damage to the nerves can cause paralysis and the absolute inability of a person to move independently. In this case, a serious damage to the nerve fibers or neurons occurs, and the patient's well-being is determined by the nature and severity of the affected areas.
The results of nerve damage are different: blood circulation is impaired, brain tumors are formed, hemorrhages in the spinal cord or brain. Body paralysis can also be caused by serious accidents in which extensive damage to the nerves in the legs, arms, or spinal cord occurs.
Paralysis of the body is divided into: apathetic and convulsive. Flaccid, apathetic paralysis is expressed by a decline in muscle tone, resulting in muscle atrophy. Convulsive, spastic paralysis, on the contrary, is expressed by a significant increase in muscle tone. People suffering from such a dangerous paralysis of the body find it difficult to control their muscles.
The systematization of paralysis also depends on the affected areas. When any part of the spinal cord or brain is seriously affected, convulsive paralysis is immediately formed. When the peripheral nerve is affected - apathetic, then - flaccid paralysis. However, none of the above severe types of paralysis does not arise by itself - this is the reaction of the human body to some specific malfunction in the whole body.
However, there are isolated cases of paralysis, which are called separate diseases, for example, polio, Parkinson's disease, cerebral palsy, Bell's palsy and many congenital diseases. In addition, there are several other types of paralysis, which are distinguished by the characteristics of the symptoms. With strokes, blood circulation in the brain is impaired, which results in one-sided paralysis of the arms, legs, and face. In the case of a slight circulatory disorder, paralysis can go away on its own.
When the spinal cord is damaged, as a rule, convulsive paralysis of two legs begins. With peripheral damage to the nervous system, a flaccid, apathetic paralysis is formed. This could be due to fractures or cut wounds. As a rule, those muscles that are directly associated with the affected nerves are severely affected. In the work of peripheral nerves, restoration is possible, in contrast to the work of neurons in the spinal cord or brain.
It should be noted that nerve growth occurs at a rate of about one to two millimeters per day. But the absolute adjustment in work is accomplished only after two years.
What to do with sudden paralysis?
You must immediately seek medical support. If there are doubts about the nature of the injury to the neck, back or head, the patient cannot be moved, it is necessary to wait for specialists. To prevent further damage, it is necessary to properly support the spine using suitable clothing, blankets, propping up your sides, head and neck.
To begin with, doctors are trying to eliminate the causes that caused the paralysis. This must be done initially in order to verify the diagnosis and prescribe the necessary treatment. After establishing the cause, specialists accelerate hemodynamics or eliminate the tumor. When peripheral nerves are affected, surgery is performed to resume their work.
When treatment is not possible, the patient can be prescribed a special medical exercise. This physical education is focused on the necessary protection of physical activity of the joints, and the result is quite significant.
Renewal of paralyzed limbs is likely under certain circumstances. There are some cases of paralyzed limbs, when a quick recovery is possible thanks to a massage using herbal creams. The use of acupuncture brings a satisfactory effect. But here it is necessary to thoroughly approach the selection of a professional, because not every specialist is able to quickly and correctly restore a patient.
Today in the West, a unique method of treating hand paralysis is used, thanks to special videos or a mirror. With their help, doctors mobilize the patient's inner will. In folk medicine, for paralysis of the body, peonies, laurel oil, green tea, rose hips and some other types of popular plants are often used.
Of course, an important factor in recovery is the help of relatives and friends. Patients desperately need a positive attitude and positive thinking. It is very important that relatives understand that the paralyzed person needs their support and help more than ever. And with the assistance of doctors, relatives and the patient in infrequent cases, partial or complete recovery is possible.
