Rheumatic polyarthritis
What is rheumatoid arthritis?
Rheumatic arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the joint that affects almost the entire body. Mostly the hands, feet, wrists and ankles are affected. The disease is of an autoimmune nature, but what exactly causes it is unknown. There is an opinion that the pathological process is caused by genetic factors, improper lifestyle and nutrition.
Chronic rheumatic arthritis develops as a result of the acute form of the disease, capturing new, previously healthy joints.
Symptoms of rheumatic arthritis
The symptoms of rheumatic arthritis appear gradually. The disease begins with a slight increase in temperature and unpleasant aching sensations. The joints begin to swell, the limbs become edematous due to inflammation of the intra-articular bursa, their flexibility is impaired, deformation (curvature) of the fingers of the limbs is possible. In severe cases, the patient feels so severe pain that he cannot move and becomes bedridden.
Among chronic rheumatic polyarthritis, nodular rheumatism is distinguished. Its symptom is the formation of painful nodes in the subcutaneous tissue. They appear on the elbow and ankle joints, on the legs and knees, fingers and toes. The nodes are mobile and disappear on their own.
Treatment of rheumatic fever
Treatment of rheumatic arthritis involves the use of anti-inflammatory drugs. In severe cases, surgical replacement of joints is recommended.
Alternative methods of treatment, such as aromatherapy, are also widely used. This treatment will help reduce inflammation, detoxify the body, and remove toxins. What oils should be used? Chamomile, immortelle, lavender, celery, patchouli and mint oils have an anti-inflammatory effect. You can cleanse your body with black pepper, cypress, ginger, dill, rosemary, thyme and sage. Eucalyptus, frankincense, marjoram and rosemary oil will relieve pain.
Baths will also have a healing effect. Hands and feet can be soared by adding chamomile, yarrow, immortelle, lavender, and mint oils to the water. Usually a drop of 2-3 drops of each oil is sufficient.
Compresses are helpful. They need to be applied to the affected joints. Take a small cup of water and dilute chamomile and lavender oil (three drops each) in it. Soak a soft cloth (flannel, cotton) in this solution and apply to the sore spot.
Aromatherapy massage sessions are also recommended. Apply oil and stroke around the affected joint. What combinations of aromatic essential oils to choose for massage? It is best to mix chamomile oil (3 drops), immortelle (1 drop), patchouli (2 drops) and yarrow (2 drops). To relieve pain, combine incense, ginger, lavender, and peppermint (2 drops of each oil). All components must be diluted in 20 ml of carrier oil.
It should be remembered that nutrition also plays an important role in the treatment of rheumatic fever. In particular, the occurrence of the disease is associated with food allergens. During exacerbations of the disease, avoid tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, dairy products and wheat, reduce the amount of salt and sugar consumed, and fatty foods. It is useful to eat green vegetables and fruits, fish, drink carrot juice, freshly squeezed juice from cabbage and celery.
