Only 9 months after the fusion of male and female germ cells is necessary for the birth of a new life. In less than a month, a tiny heart pulsates. For 280 days, wonderful and wonderful processes take place inside a woman. How does this affect her body and well-being? Why do some suffer from nausea, mood swings, while others feel great throughout their pregnancy? And if there is no toxicosis, is it normal?

Many mothers-to-be who are expecting their first child are often anxious if they do not feel any discomfort that seems to be coming.

For some reason, it is generally accepted that the absence of toxicosis should be alarming. What if the pregnancy is not going as it should?

Physiological pregnancy and toxicosis

Physiological pregnancy is a process that takes place without any complications or pathologies. Structurally, it is customary to divide it into trimesters, each of which consists of three months. The first and last trimesters are considered more critical. In the first (embryonic), all future organs and systems are laid.

In this case, the body of the mother herself undergoes colossal changes:

  1. The endocrine system is being rebuilt.
  2. A real hormonal explosion occurs in the body.
  3. The acquaintance between a mother and her unborn baby consists of complex biochemical processes. For some, this happens asymptomatically, while others begin to feel the presence of new life from the first days.

If during the first three months, the morning begins with nausea, vomiting, lack of appetite, weakness - we can talk about the onset of physiological toxicosis.

This is a normal body reaction:

  1. for the appearance of foreign proteins;
  2. hormonal surge occurring against the background of body restructuring;
  3. imperfection of the placenta, which performs protective and excretory functions.

By the end of the first trimester, the situation is improving:

  1. The hormonal background levels out.
  2. Exchange processes are becoming more perfect.
  3. The placenta matures and strengthens its protective functions. Now it is a reliable barrier that will not allow the baby's metabolic products into the mother's blood, and negative environmental factors to the baby.
  4. The immune system, guarding the woman's health, adapts to biological material “alien” for her and calms down. If all these processes go smoothly and on time, and the mother has no chronic diseases in the anamnesis, then, most likely, the entire course of pregnancy will be invisible, painless and comfortable.

Factors that indirectly affect the absence of toxicosis:

  1. Lack of genetic predisposition and diseases.
  2. Compliance with the norms of a balanced diet.
  3. Lack of chronic advanced diseases.
  4. Strong immunity.
  5. Compliance with the regime of the day and sleep.

All of these factors help a woman to comfortably endure pregnancy, but do not give a 100% guarantee that toxicosis will not appear. All processes are very individual.

A pathological pregnancy can be difficult from the first days. The main problem will be uterine hypertonicity, which can turn into a threat of breakdown.

Can also bring complications:

  1. Chronic diseases of the genitourinary sphere.
  2. Liver and kidney problems.
  3. Rare immune reactions, when the mother's body does not want to recognize the baby "her".

Pathological pregnancy and toxicosis

It happens that there are problems with the maturation of the placenta or its detachment.

Since the uterus is a muscular organ, it periodically comes in tone. In this case, the placenta is not able to contract. With strong contractions of the uterus, the placenta may exfoliate. This may be subtle, or it may be accompanied by bleeding or discharge. All these processes can take place against the background of toxicosis, or they may not have any symptoms.

Naturally, it is impossible to say that pregnancy is proceeding well if there are signs of intoxication.

Sometimes, with the threat of a breakdown, a woman may not experience nausea, loss of appetite, and weakness. And with five times of vomiting, all pregnancy processes will proceed normally.

There are factors that increase the chances of toxicosis:

  1. The presence of strong odors.
  2. Lack of a balanced diet.
  3. Bad habits.
  4. Stuffiness in the room. One of the main causes of nausea and vomiting. Often the availability of fresh air will alleviate the problem of these side effects.
  5. A predisposition to allergies, especially food allergies.
  6. The presence of chronic diseases.
  7. Deficiency of vitamins or minerals.

If early toxicosis most often ends at the end of the first trimester, maximum at the beginning of the second, and is of a physiological nature, then the late one is an increased danger.

It can be accompanied by edema, increased blood pressure, loss of appetite, and as a result, loss of maternal weight. All these factors can negatively affect the blood supply to the fetus and cause hypoxia. Prolonged oxygen starvation of a baby can result in serious pathological and sometimes irreversible processes.

In addition, gestosis (the name of late toxicosis) can lead to eclampsia. A state when, against the background of toxic depression of the nervous system, convulsions occur alternating with coma. If such a threat arises, we are talking about abortion.

Summing up

Now, understanding the nature of the process called toxicosis. Having studied its varieties, the factors that affect the appearance and course of this process, we can draw the main conclusion. If you are in a good mood, great appetite, lack of any discomfort. If you want to enjoy, sing, dance, lead an active lifestyle. At the same time, your tummy grows, and each visit to the doctor brings only positive emotions - you can only congratulate you. You have a healthy, physiological pregnancy, which will definitely end with the birth of a healthy and happy baby. And you don't need any toxicosis.
