Susak
Useful properties and application of the umbelliferae
Susak description
Susak is a perennial aquatic plant with a creeping, rather thick root and a huge number of extra long lobes. The cylindrical leafless stem reaches a height of 130 cm. The basal leaves of the susak have a linear-triangular shape. In the lower part, they are grooved. Pale pink flowers are collected in beautiful umbrellas at the very top of a sturdy stem.
This herb often blooms in early June, as well as in July. Susak fruit is a collection of leaves. Such a plant is common in Siberia and the Far East. As a rule, it gives preference to forest-steppe zones, river banks, meadow bogs, and often settles along the edge of ponds.
Useful properties of susak
Leaves and rhizomes are considered to be the main medicinal raw material of the susak. The roots contain a lot of gum, sugar and starch, as well as fats and proteins. Healing decoction of plant rhizomes is shown as a diuretic, laxative, anti-inflammatory, expectorant and anti-febrile agent. Outwardly, it can be used for infiltrates that are formed due to inflammatory processes.
The healing juice of the leaves is indicated for white spots and lichen. In addition, this juice can lubricate the inflamed areas of the skin with dermatoses and leukoderma.
Susak application
Often, when coughing, it is prescribed to take funds based on the roots of the susak. To prepare such an infusion, you need to take a full glass of boiling water for 1 tablespoon of rhizomes. After straining, it is recommended to take the product 2 tablespoons before meals 3 times a day. The infusion will work almost instantly: three doses are enough to soften the cough.
With edema and ascites, many doctors recommend making a special infusion from one teaspoon of plant seeds and a glass of water. Such a tool should be boiled over the lowest heat for about 6 minutes, and then insisted for about one hour. It is recommended to take it up to three times a day, 1 tablespoon.
With dropsy of the abdomen, such a decoction is indicated at any stage of the development of the disease. To alleviate the condition with ascites, it is recommended to take a course of treatment for at least two weeks. Thanks to this, unpleasant swelling from the face and legs will disappear, and by the end of the treatment, lightness will appear in the body.
A decoction of rhizomes also manifests itself as an unusually mild laxative. With a fever, the gopher is simply irreplaceable. For 1 tablespoon of highly crushed roots, take 300 ml of water and bring the mixture to a boil. Cook it for about 20 minutes, cool and filter. It is enough to take this remedy 2 or 3 times a day for the body temperature to return to normal.
Susak umbrella
Umbelliferae is an attractive aquatic plant that is winter hardy and does not require any complicated care. It blooms all summer months, from May to mid-September. Often, this grateful plant is adorned with private garden ponds. Numerous rather large pink flowers are located on thin graceful legs and are collected in small apical inflorescences of the umbrella type. Since the flowers contain a large amount of nectar, the Umbelliferae is attracted not only by bees, but also by other insects.
At the base of the triangular long leaves, dense vegetative buds are formed, from which young plants subsequently arise. This type of sage propagates by buds and seeds. In addition, it can be propagated by dividing a large overgrown rhizome in mid-spring. Such a coastal plant perfectly takes root in swampy areas and along the banks of artificial reservoirs, if it is planted to a depth of about 10 cm.
Contraindications to the use of susak
This plant is not recommended for ingestion during pregnancy. It should be mentioned that with a tendency to loose stools, a decoction from the roots of the susak is contraindicated. Moreover, with menorrhagia, it cannot be used, since it significantly increases menstrual flow.
