Botanical characteristics of a turnip
Agrimony is a perennial medicinal low plant that has a weakly branching stem. On the straight stems of the plant there are large pubescent, long leaves. Since June, large yellow flowers bloom on the stems, collected in inflorescences - an ear. The flowering of the plant continues throughout the summer. The fruit of a turnip is an irregularly shaped nutlet with hook-shaped processes on its surface. As long as the plant is fresh it smells amazing, but as soon as it dries, the smell will disappear.
Agrimony can be seen in Europe, Russia, the Balkans and Asia. Agrimony prefers to grow in dry meadows, forest edges and along the roadside.
Growing a turnip
For the cultivation of the turnip, a moderately fertile soil with good drainage is chosen. The place for the agrimony should be sunny or partial shade. Agrimony can be propagated by seeds or plots. Spring is suitable for seed sowing, but plots can be propagated not only in spring, but also in autumn. Agrimony is not a whimsical plant. This plant is responsive to any care. As the soil dries up, watering is performed. When shoots appear, they do loosening, weeding. If the seeds have been sown too thickly, then thinning makes sense. After thinning the plants, there should be at least 20 cm between them. The plant does not like weeds, so when they appear, they must be removed from the site.
Useful properties of agrimony
Agrimony contains tannins, which are used for diarrhea. And also the plant contains bitterness and essential oils, thanks to which it is used for gastrointestinal diseases. A tea is prepared from the agrimony, which is used for stagnant bile, poor appetite, and colic in the stomach. Agrimony has anti-inflammatory properties that help with throat and mouth infections. Agrimony regulates liver function and improves digestion. Agrimony has tonic and diuretic properties. It is also used as an excellent pain reliever and choleretic agent. Agrimony is used for hepatitis, liver cirrhosis.
The use of common agrimony
In folk medicine, this plant is a real panacea. It is used for coughing up blood, bleeding, colic in the side, asthma and pain in the legs. Painful periods is another use of agrimony (it will relieve pain). Agrimony helps to stop nosebleeds, cure furunculosis, flu and other diseases.
Agrimony is used in the form of infusion, tea, steam, rinsing and rinsing. Agrimony tincture is used for diseases of the oral cavity in the form of rinsing. Tea is used to improve appetite. Agrimony decoction is used for skin diseases in the form of compresses.
Agrimony tea. For its preparation, take 2 teaspoons of agine grass and pour 250 ml of boiling water over it. Leave for 5 minutes. Then they filter the tea and drink 1 cup three times a day. You can gargle with tea, rinse your tonsils.
Agrimony tea for cholelithiasis. Take 10 grams of wormwood herb and 20 grams of turnip. Take 1 teaspoon of the mixture and fill it with a glass of boiling water. After insisting 2 minutes, filter. The tea will taste bitter, so you can drink it in small sips, but hot. neither sugar nor honey can be added to this tea.
Agrimony tincture for colitis. Take fresh grass and chop it finely, put it in a glass jar and fill it with unrefined vegetable oil. The oil should cover the grass no more than 3 cm. Leave it for 3 weeks in a dark room with room temperature. Shake the contents of the jar every day. We filter the finished tincture and take 1 tablespoon three times a day 30 minutes before meals.
Agrimony for bleeding. To prepare it, you need to take 30 grams of agine grass and pour 350 ml of water. We put on low heat to evaporate until half the volume is obtained. Straining the finished broth, take it every 3 hours, a tablespoon.
Agrimony expectorant. We prepare it like this: we take a budra, agrimony and a hoof, 1 tablespoon each. Next, pour this mixture with 750 ml of boiling water and leave to infuse for 8-12 hours. We take the finished medicine three times a day, 100 ml.
Decoction for gargling. Take 100 grams of turnip leaves, dry them and pour 1 liter of water. Put on fire until the volume is reduced by three times. Next, add some rose oil. It is recommended to gargle with such a broth for people who need to talk a lot and for a long time.
Agrimony for compresses. We take 3 tablespoons of agrimony herb and fill it with two glasses of water. We put on fire for 4 minutes. After removing from heat, leave the broth to brew for 4 hours. Strain the finished infusion and use it warm for compresses or as a bath for gout.
