Growing and using the beneficial properties of ash
Botanical characteristics of ash
Ash is a tall, powerful tree with pinnately dissected leaves with black dots. Each ash leaf consists of 7 or more leaves, located opposite to each other, which develop after the flowering period. The purple or dark brown ash flowers begin to bloom even before the leaves appear on the tree. Flowers are collected in bunches of inflorescences of several pieces. Most often there are flowers that do not have a corolla and calyx. Each flower has many red stamens, for which this tree cannot be confused with others. Ash fruits are lionfish, which are collected in several pieces in one panicle inflorescence.
Ash blooms in April. Most often, the tree grows in humid places, for example, near rivers, water bodies, in damp forests and near streams. Ash is common in Moldova, Ukraine, in the Caucasus in the forests.
Growing ash
Ash is very fond of light and grows in fertile moist soils. The plant has a peculiarity - it is resistant not only to smoke, but also to gas. Ash grows and develops rapidly. The tree is propagated by seed and seedlings.
Ash is a plant that cannot tolerate soil stagnation and saline areas. When the plant is planted, it is necessary to maintain a distance between trees of 5 meters. When planting, the root of the plant should be 20 cm above the soil level. Why? Because after planting, the soil becomes compacted and begins to settle. Before planting, the root system of the ash seedling is saturated with moisture.
For ash, it is better to select a drained and fertilized soil. At the beginning of spring and in its last days, it is necessary to apply nitrogen fertilizers to the soil. During planting, the soil should be watered. For four days after planting, the plant requires constant watering. Ash needs to be cut off by 5 cm, since ash is very bad for pruning, so it is better to cut off dry branches and remove top shoots from the tree trunk.
