Metabolism
Role and causes of metabolic disorders
Metabolism in the human body
Metabolism is a set of chemical reactions that ensure the vital activity and growth of a cell. Metabolism is what is the basis of a living organism, it is the exchange between the chemical composition of a person and the environment.
All chemical and natural elements - proteins, fats and carbohydrates - are involved in the metabolic processes of our body. Fulfilling each of their roles - proteins, creating a building material, and fats with carbohydrates, regulating the balance of energy costs - interact clearly and harmoniously with each other. They are helped by minerals and vitamins, which improve the cellular environment.
Metabolism has two sides:
1.dissimilation - decomposition, breakdown of nutrients.
2. assimilation - synthesis, creation and assimilation of new substances by the body.
These processes run in parallel and throughout life. The following stages are distinguished:
1. The intake of nutrients into the body
2. Absorption of them from the digestive tract
3. Redistribution and assimilation of nutrients (tissue stage)
4. Allocation of residues of decay products that cannot be absorbed in the body
Metabolic processes in the body are fast and intense, although the body does not have high pressure and temperature. This speed is provided by the participation of enzymes and other substances.
The role of metabolism
Metabolism deserves to be given the utmost attention. Indeed, the supply of our cells with useful substances depends on its well-established work. The basis of metabolism is made up of chemical reactions in the human body. We get the substances necessary for the vital activity of the body with food.
Additionally, we need more oxygen, which we breathe in together with air. Ideally, there should be a balance between construction and decay. However, this balance can often be violated and there are many reasons for this.
The causes of metabolic disorders
Among the first causes of metabolic disorders, a hereditary factor can be distinguished. Although incorrigible, it can and should be fought! Also metabolic disorders can be caused by organic diseases. However, these violations are often the result of our unhealthy diet.
Both an overabundance of nutrients and their lack are very harmful to our body. And the consequences can be irreversible. An excess of some nutrients occurs as a result of excessive consumption of fatty foods, and a deficiency - with strict adherence to various diets for weight loss. The main diet is most often a monotonous diet, which leads to a lack of necessary nutrients, in turn, this will inevitably lead to the development of various diseases. Allergies to most foods are possible.
Metabolic diseases
Even by balancing all metabolic processes, supplying the body with missing vitamins, we run the risk of getting a number of serious diseases caused by the decay products of our cells. Decay products have everything living and growing, and this is perhaps the most dangerous enemy for our health. In other words, the body must be cleansed of toxins in time, or they will simply begin to poison it. When left in excess, waste products cause chronic disease and slow down the functioning of the entire body.
With violations of carbohydrate metabolism, a serious disease occurs - diabetes mellitus, with improper fat metabolism, cholesterol accumulates (How to lower cholesterol levels at home without medication?), Causing heart and vascular diseases. Free radicals, which become in excess, contribute to the emergence of malignant tumors.
Obesity is also a common consequence of metabolic problems. This group also includes gout, digestive disorders, some forms of diabetes, etc. Violation of the balance of minerals and vitamins leads to damage to muscles, bones, severe disorders of the cardiovascular system. In children, this can lead to very serious consequences in the form of stunted growth and development. It is worth noting that additional use of vitamins is not always recommended, because their excess can also have negative consequences.
Prevention
To regulate metabolic processes in our body, we need to know that there are some substances that prevent the formation of toxins and improve the quality of metabolism.
First, there is oxygen. The optimal amount of oxygen in the tissues significantly activates metabolic processes.
Secondly, vitamins and minerals. With age, all processes slow down, there is a partial blockage of blood vessels, so it is important to control the receipt of a sufficient amount of minerals, carbohydrates and oxygen. This will ensure a good work of the water-salt metabolism of the cell, since over time, the cell dries out and no longer receives all the necessary elements for its vital activity. Knowing this, it is important for us to artificially nourish aging cells.
There are many recommendations and drugs that regulate metabolism. In folk medicine, the White Sea algae, fucus, has gained wide popularity; it contains a valuable set of minerals and useful vitamins necessary to improve metabolism. Proper nutrition, exclusion from the diet of foods containing cholesterol and other harmful substances is another way to perfect body function.
