Horsetail is an herb used in the complex treatment of adenoids. The effectiveness of horsetail products is based on the chemical composition of the plant. It is rich in saponins, silicic and organic acids, vitamins and trace elements.

Through the use of recipes based on field horsetail, the following therapeutic effects can be achieved:

  • Disinfecting effect.
  • Reduction of swelling of the mucous membrane of the nasal passages due to the flavonoid glycosides included in the plant.
  • Increasing the general resistance of the body due to biostimulating substances present in the horsetail (apigenin, phenolcarboxylic, oxalic and silicic acid, quercetin).
  • Cleansing the nasopharynx and tonsils from pathogenic bacteria, which is possible thanks to the tannins that are part of the horsetail. The most important in this regard are tannin, pyrocatechol and phenol.
  • Trace elements from horsetail contribute to strengthening the body: copper, iron, zinc, magnesium, calcium.
  • Horsetail is rich in vitamins, including: vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin A and vitamin E.

A recipe for an infusion of field horsetail for rinsing the nose. Two tablespoons of herbs are poured into 0.25 liters of boiling water and insisted for 15 minutes. Filter the liquid, squeeze the pulp through cheesecloth. Pour 20-30 drops of infusion into each nostril. If the treatment is carried out for an adult, then you can simply suck in the liquid through your nose. The therapy should be continued for 15 days. For the treatment of the child, the infusion is poured into a spray bottle and 10 injections are performed in each nostril. You need to perform the procedure several times a day and always before bedtime.

Horsetail decoction recipe. Two tablespoons of dry raw materials are poured into 0.5 cups of boiling water, covered with a towel and kept for 40 minutes. Then the liquid is filtered and used to rinse the nose. Every day you need to prepare a fresh broth.

Depending on the severity of the disease, treatment can last from 21 days to 30 days. The broth is instilled in a volume of 5 drops into each nostril. The number of instillations per day is three. Already after 2 weeks from the start of treatment, the person will feel significant relief.

On the second day from the beginning of the procedure, the discharge from the nose may increase. Do not be afraid of this, as this process is quite normal.

Side effects from the use of horsetail are reduced to increased excretion of fluid from the body and leaching of vitamin B1. Therefore, you should drink as much pure water as possible and take vitamin and mineral complexes. The menu should include foods such as: chicken liver, leafy greens, and buckwheat. This will make up for the deficiency of B vitamins.

To enhance the therapeutic effect, it is shown performing a massage of the lateral points located on the wings of the nose, as well as massage of the bridge of the nose. In parallel, you should strengthen the immune system and follow all the doctor's recommendations. It is important to eliminate the cause of the development of adenoids, otherwise, it will not be possible to achieve a positive result.
