Angelica flowers are small, located at the top of the stem and collected in umbrellas. Angelica fruit is a flat fruit, which, when ripe, splits into two half-fruits. Angelica begins to bloom only from the second year of life in the summer, and the fruits ripen by August or September. This plant reproduces vegetatively and by seed. This plant is widely spread in Western Siberia and the European part of the CIS. The main habitats of angelica are as follows: thickets, banks of rivers, lakes and streams, damp alder forests and shrubs.
Useful properties of angelica

Angelica fruit preparations are remedies that relieve seizures and remove bile from the body.
Angelica decoction. Take 3 tablespoons of angelica and pour 200 ml of boiling water over them. Close the container with the broth with a lid and put in a water bath for half an hour. After cooling the broth, strain it. This broth is used to stimulate appetite, for coughs and stomach cramps, 100 ml 3 times a day after meals in a warm form. The broth has an expectorant and diaphoretic effect.
Decoction of angelica roots. It is easy to cook and, moreover, very fast. To do this, take 15 grams of plant roots and fill them with 1.5 cups of boiling water. We put on fire for 5 minutes. Take such a decoction for bronchitis, liver or intestinal disease. A single dose of the drug is 15 ml. You can take the product no more than four times a day.
Angelica infusion tonic. Take 1 tablespoon of rhizomes (of course, with roots) of the plant and pour a glass of boiling water. Leave to infuse for 3 hours. Then filter and take 100 ml twice a day half an hour before meals. This infusion is used for hysteria, neuralgia, nervous exhaustion. This infusion can also be used as a tonic.
Contraindications to the use of angelica
Angelica contains substances harmful to the body, therefore, it is necessary to use medicines from this plant in moderation and with caution. It is better for pregnant women not to use angelica medications at all, as they can lead to abortion and complications. Angelica preparations have a photosensitizing effect on the human body, so a person who takes them for a long time should not be outdoors on sunny days.
