Ivy budra is a perennial herb. Its aerial shoots with flowers located on them grow up to 50 cm long. The plant also has vegetative, creeping shoots lying on the ground, from the nodes of which roots grow, strengthening in the soil. The stems are tetrahedral, slightly pubescent. The leaves are opposite, attached with petioles, covered with short hairs.

Flowers with a blue-violet corolla are located in the axillary rings, decorating the plant from April to late summer. After flowering, fruits appear oval-elongated in the form of a brown nut. Plush budra grows in fields, along roads, in vegetable gardens, in gardens, in wastelands, loves fertile soils with high humidity. The plant is widespread in Europe and Asia, adapted to life in North America. It can be found in all regions of Russia.

Useful properties of Budra

Ivy budra is famous for its beneficial properties. In folk medicine, the aerial part of the plant is used for the preparation of various agents. Budra is a real treasure of natural substances such as saponins, tannins and bitter substances, resins, organic acids, triterpenoids, steroids, fatty acids, iridoids, alkaloids, vitamins, phenolcarboxylic acids, flavonoids.

Ivy buddra has a wide range of applications in traditional medicine. The plant excellently relieves inflammatory processes in the bladder, improves the condition of patients with liver cancer, relieves dropsy. Budra perfectly helps in the acute period of bronchopneumonia, with angina. The use of products prepared from the raw materials of this herb allows you to cure thyroid diseases. Due to its antiseptic and wound healing properties, essential oil is effective for healing wounds, abrasions and ulcers.

Decoctions and infusions of ivy budra exhibit antitumor, choleretic properties, are recommended to increase lactation, have antibacterial and hypotensive effects. They are used for acute bronchitis, bronchial asthma, pulmonary tuberculosis. Diseases of the stomach, liver, spleen, convulsive states pass faster and are more easily tolerated by patients if in the course of treatment the herb of ivy budra is additionally used. It removes stones from the kidneys and urinary bladder, is used against burns, expels worms from the intestines.

In the form of lotions, the plant is used to eliminate toothache, relieve itching while getting rid of scabies. The antiseptic properties of Budra can be useful in case of hemorrhoids, complications of pregnancy, with a strong, persistent cough and upper respiratory tract diseases. The ideal medicine is fresh ivy budra juice, it can be instilled into the nose for a headache, 1-2 drops.

There are excellent recipes that can be used for baths and compresses for joint inflammation, dislocations and fractures of bones, for treating skin from various rashes and scrofula:

  • 1 tablespoon of herbs, taken in 1 glass of water, cook over low heat for 15–20 minutes.
  • You can mix the leaves crushed to a powdery state with vegetable oil or water.

These funds should be gently rubbed into the affected area.

Tincture of ivy budra

Alcohol tincture: The tincture is prepared in a concentration (1:10) on 40% alcohol, infusing the contents in a dark place at room temperature for 8-10 days, periodically shaking the contents, then thoroughly filtered and stored in a dark place at room temperature. Take 15-20 drops 3 times a day before meals for kidney and bladder disease.

Alcohol tincture for bronchial asthma: pour 25 g of leaves with 100 ml of alcohol or a glass of vodka.   • Pour a tablespoon of dry crushed herbs with 1 cup of boiling water, leave in a water bath for 30 minutes, cool for 10 minutes, drain. Take 1/3 cup 3 times a day before meals for gonorrhea, pain in women in labor.
  • Boil five tablespoons of dried raw materials for 3-5 minutes on low heat in 1 liter of water, filter after cooling. Used for washing, bathing and compresses.

  • A tablespoon of budra herb per 250 ml of water, boil for 10 minutes. Used for baths, rinses and compresses for gout, bone fractures, rashes, abscesses, ulcers, wounds and tumors.
  • Inhalation of vapors of a decoction of the herb has an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effect in catarrh of the upper respiratory tract and chronic rhinitis.

Budra honey
