Systemic lupus erythematosus is quite rare, being at the same time an incurable disease of a rheumatic nature. It causes inflammation and organic disorders in various tissues of the body, and is also characterized by significant changes in the clinical picture of the blood.

Causes of blood lupus

Lupus is an autoimmune disease, which means that the body begins to produce antibodies to its own cells, thereby causing damage to healthy tissues. The immune system takes the tissues of its body as foreign and tries to destroy them. As a result, practically all organs and systems of the body, including the circulatory system, are involved in the process.

A viral infection plays a role in the development of lupus erythematosus. Very often, the disease begins to manifest itself after childbirth, abortion, emotional stress and as a result of prolonged exposure to the sun, frost - that is, under the influence of external environmental factors. Patients often have a history of allergies to drugs and food in the past.

Women get sick at times more often than men. There are known cases of lupus erythematosus in whole families, which suggests the genetic nature of the disease. The high-risk group includes persons who already have relatives suffering from systemic lupus erythematosus.

Lupus blood symptoms

Lupus erythematosus is characterized by an undulating course of the disease, when periods of remission and well-being are replaced by exacerbations, new symptoms appear and inflammatory processes in various organs intensify. And although the clinical picture can be quite diverse, there are also general signs - chronic fatigue, swelling and soreness of the joints, fever of unknown etiology, skin rashes and impaired renal function. Lupus blood refers to rheumatic diseases, that is, it is accompanied by damage to the connective tissue and joint, muscle pain.

People with lupus often have anemia or leukopenia, which means a decrease in the number of white and / or red blood cells. If platelets decrease, thrombocytopenia develops, which increases the risk of bleeding due to a bleeding disorder. Some patients have an increased predisposition to the appearance of blood clots in the blood vessels.

Other symptoms include severe hair loss, chest pain, increased sensitivity to sunlight, and a decrease in red blood cells. With hypothermia, redness of the skin of the fingers or toes appears. Some patients develop severe headaches, unexplained sudden dizziness, causeless depression and apathy, convulsions. Signs of the disease can appear gradually, at different times, as well as new symptoms, even after a long time after confirming the diagnosis.

Diagnosis of blood lupus can be difficult due to the nature of the disease. Symptoms may not appear immediately, but some time after the onset of the disease, it is very difficult to put them together and put them together. Therefore, first of all, a detailed collection of anamnesis is required, including hereditary. The external examination of the patient is of great importance in the diagnosis.

A general clinical blood test allows you to identify violations in the hematopoietic system, for which the hemoglobin content is determined and all blood cells, consisting of leukocytes, erythrocytes and platelets, are counted. Biochemical blood tests and the Wasserman reaction are also carried out, showing a false positive result in lupus. The study of antinuclear antibodies gives positive titers in most patients with lupus erythematosus. Depending on the degree of manifestation of the disease and under certain indications, other examination methods are prescribed.

Lupus Blood Treatment

The attending physician can periodically change the prescription of drugs, selecting them strictly individually with the close participation of a hematologist specializing in blood disorders. Drug therapy is used to prevent exacerbations and prolong the period of remission for as long as possible, minimizing the risk of possible complications.

When choosing a method of treatment, the patient's age and condition at the time of examination, clinical symptoms, the duration of the diagnosis, and the patient's lifestyle must be taken into account. The earlier the patient begins treatment, the more chances he has to avoid irreversible pathological changes in internal organs and systems. In order to achieve a positive and long-term effect, patients are advised to carefully follow all the recommendations of the attending physician and constantly follow the prescribed regimen.
