Constipation soap

This is a fairly old and now rarely practiced, but very effective method of getting rid of stagnant feces. For treatment with soap, they use household soap, from which candles are cut out or used to prepare enemas. Homemade suppositories are inserted into the anus. If they did not have the desired effect, an enema is prepared from an aqueous solution of laundry soap, the tip of the syringe is lubricated with petroleum jelly and, after insertion into the anus, they begin to turn clockwise, while massaging the stomach in the opposite direction. This should give a quick positive result.

This method of getting rid of constipation cannot be used by children, and it is suitable for adults only in emergency cases. The fact is that soap consists of fat and alkali, which under certain conditions may not enter into the intended reaction and remain unchanged in the finished product. When interacting with the mucous membrane, its release can occur, which will be harmful to health.

Abdominal massage for constipation

The effectiveness of mechanical action during stagnation in the intestines is very high. There are several types of massage that are used to treat constipation - segmental-reflex, hardware, acupressure and self-massage. The latter may turn out to be the most in demand, since the help of professional massage therapists is not always available.

Before you start self-massage, you need to fulfill a number of conditions:

  • Before the session, you need to empty the bladder, as well as the intestines, using an enema if necessary. This requirement is explained by the fact that a deep effect during the massage should reach the front and back walls of the internal organs, and the solid masses in them can lead to irritation of the mucous membranes and impairment of blood circulation.
  • You can start self-massage no earlier than an hour and a half after eating, the duration of the procedure should not exceed 10 minutes.
  • The body and hands must be clean.
  • The abdominal muscles should be relaxed as much as possible, for which it is necessary to take the most comfortable position.
  • The direction of massage movements should repeat the flow of lymph to the nearby lymph nodes.

Self-massage begins from the right iliac side, then moves in the direction of the right hypochondrium, bypassing it, descend to the left iliac side. The first movements are in the nature of light strokes, gradually turning into spiral or circular rubbing with weights, intermittent pressure, shaking. The session ends with vibration and circular strokes.

It is not allowed to use massage for constipation for people with diseases of the skin, blood, cardiovascular system, gastrointestinal tract. Sessions are not performed during pregnancy and for 2 months after childbirth or abortion.

Enema for constipation at home

Image
Image

If medications and folk remedies are ineffective, enemas are used to alleviate the condition.

How to give an enema for constipation? Features of the procedure depend on the type and composition of the enema:

  • Oil. Olive, vaseline or sunflower oil in a volume of 50-100 ml is injected into the rectum through a rubber pear, which mixes with the feces, making them slippery and accelerating their movement to the anus. Usually, the oily substance is heated to 37C, which relieves spasm and also promotes early bowel movements. The effect does not come soon, after 10-12 hours, so this enema is usually given at night.
  • Hypertensive. Has an instant effect. For its preparation, use a 10% solution of sodium chloride or 20% magnesia. 100-200 ml. liquid with a rubber bulb is introduced inside. When these substances enter the intestine, they increase the osmotic pressure in it, as a result of which fluid from neighboring tissues is drawn into the feces and softens them. Meanwhile, the saline solution irritates the rectal mucosa, causing it to actively contract and the movement of excrement to the anus. The effect is achieved after 20 minutes.
  • Cleansing. This type of enema can be used if the previous ones have not had an effect. It does not in any way affect the functioning of the intestines, but simply flushes feces from the body. It is not recommended to put such an enema on your own, it is better to seek help. To carry it out, you will need water of the appropriate temperature, which is poured into an Esmarch mug with a previously closed tap. The device is suspended a meter above the bed. After the introduction of fluid into the body, the patient should lie down for about 20 minutes so that the water is evenly distributed throughout the intestines and softens the feces. Then there is a bowel movement.

Sequencing:

  1. Enema tips are lubricated with petroleum jelly.
  2. The patient lies on the left side and brings the legs bent at the knees to the stomach.
  3. With the index and thumb of his left hand, he spreads the buttocks, and with his right he takes the tip and with careful rotational movements introduces it no more than 10 cm into the anus.
  4. The contents of the enema are slowly injected into the intestinal cavity. When cleaning, open the regulator on the hose for the gradual penetration of water into the intestines.
  5. After the introduction of the solution, it is necessary to be at rest for 10 minutes, and then go for a bowel movement. After the oil enema, the patient goes to bed, and bowel movement occurs in the morning.

Enemas should not be done too often, as well as in the presence of ulcers, cracks, erosions on the surface of the intestinal mucosa, bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract, inflammatory processes in the colon, hemorrhoids, abdominal pain.

There are many ways to deal with constipation at home, but their use should be discussed with specialists. Any of the proposed options will give a stable and high-quality result only if its use is complemented by a correct diet, feasible physical activity and treatment of the main causes of the unpleasant ailment.
