Tinnitus with osteochondrosis
The cause of the appearance of tinnitus in osteochondrosis
Tinnitus is quite common and almost always the presence of a chronic noise causes the patient to suffer. A person is deprived of proper rest, becomes easily irritated, his performance decreases and depression may develop. Various reasons can lead to the sensation of tinnitus: head trauma, various kinds of infections, inflammation, atherosclerosis of blood vessels, overwork, and so on. That is why it is so important to be thoroughly examined before starting treatment to determine the true source of the disease.
Osteochondrosis is one of the main and most common causes of tinnitus. This disease causes destruction and deformation of the intervertebral discs. Dystrophic disorders in the cartilage of the joints can begin to develop anywhere in the body, but intervertebral discs are most attacked. Localization of osteochondrosis can be in the cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions. A clear symptom of cervical osteochondrosis may be the presence of noise, ringing and pain in the ears.
The vertebrae of the cervical spine carry a very heavy load and are the most mobile part of the spine. Over time, some people wear out the discs between the vertebrae, which causes impaired blood flow through the vessels. Degeneration occurs in the vertebrae of the neck and, as a result, there is a thickening in the muscle tissue, accompanied by pain.
Deformation of the intervertebral discs causes squeezing of the vessels supplying blood to the inner ear and puts pressure on the sympathetic nerve. Such violations lead to vasoconstriction. Under pressure, the neurovascular bundle disrupts the arterial blood supply to the brain of the head and causes venous congestion. Atherosclerotic manifestations begin.
Nerve cells are not able to receive a sufficient amount of brain signals and are fully responsible for human hearing. For this reason, they begin to emit their personal signals with the same continuous rhythm. This process results in persistent tinnitus.
Concomitant factors of the disease can be dizziness, increased blood pressure, sleep disturbances, the appearance of a veil on the eyes, and the ability to memorize information deteriorates. Severe pain in the back of the head, temples, and neck is possible. Moreover, the cessation of headaches can restore hearing, vision, and even tinnitus will disappear. But do not be mistaken about the ongoing processes - this is only a temporary improvement.
Treatment of tinnitus with osteochondrosis
Treatment of tinnitus should precede an examination of the hearing organs and the whole body as a whole for possible diseases. If the source of the noise is precisely the osteochondrosis present in the cervical spine, then the doctor has the right to prescribe treatment. As a rule, therapy for this disease consists of drug treatment, massages, a set of physiotherapy exercises and physiotherapy. Only a doctor can individually select such a complex of treatment, based on the results of the examination and the patient's condition.
Prevention of tinnitus with osteochondrosis
An excellent measure to prevent ear noise is a special massage of the collar zone of the neck and head, as well as physical exercises, the main purpose of which is to maintain or restore mobility in the cervical region, stretching and strengthening the cervical muscles. Doctors recommend self-massage of the neck, and at any time of the day. This measure is especially useful for people whose activities are associated with prolonged sedentary work.
Self-massage is done with both hands from the bottom up from the neck to the head. The movements are performed in the form of gentle pressure, turning into circular movements. These simple steps will improve your circulation.
Another simple exercise aimed at eliminating tinnitus is performed as follows: imagining a pencil clamped in your teeth, you need to slowly display in the air a digital series from zero to ten and back. This exercise activates the muscles of the cervical region. Performing the above complex twice a day can reduce muscle tension accumulated during the day and prevent unpleasant pain syndrome.
Tinnitus prevention measures that are generally available and desirable for all ages are a reasonably formulated diet that takes into account all nutrients, fitness exercises, and daily walks in the fresh air. No wonder they say that it is always easier to prevent a disease than to cure it. But if it has already appeared, then try to visit a doctor at the initial stage of the disease, when it responds well to treatment.
