Hyperplasia
Causes and symptoms of endometrial hyperplasia
What is hyperplasia?
Hyperplasia is a process in which, due to an increase in the number of cells in an organ or tissue (except for a tumor), the size of this organ or formation increases. There are cases when the appearance of this process can be triggered by the use of anabolic steroids. This is due to the fact that the muscle mass during their intake will be formed due to hypertrophy, which ultimately will lead to an increase in the number of cells, in this case, muscle. Research confirms this, but there are also opponents of this judgment.
It is believed that the use of the so-called growth hormone is a prerequisite for the onset of hyperplasia. The consequence will be that people who go in for sports and do not have ideal natural data for this will be able to maximize their muscles. In this case, an important role will be played by the fact that the results will be much better than when taking anabolic steroids alone.
Causes of endometrial hyperplasia
Endometrial hyperplasia is a process by which the inner layer of the uterus becomes thicker. The disease can occur regardless of age. The prerequisites for the emergence and spread will be hormonal imbalance in the woman's body, due to which there will be a failure in menstruation. Basically, this disease is common among women who have other diseases, such as obesity, diabetes mellitus or hypertension.
We must also remember that this type of hyperplasia can be a prerequisite for cancer and infertility in women. For this reason, it is necessary and extremely important to detect and treat it in time.
Endometrial hyperplasia symptoms
Endometrial hyperplasia at the very beginning of development does not always show any signs. As a rule, a little later, rare spotting occurs, which occurs regardless of menstruation. In the future, they appear more often and become the most abundant, and stronger discharge can lead to anemia and other unpleasant consequences.
Diagnosis of hyperplasia
If a woman has suspicions of endometrial hyperplasia, it is necessary to conduct an ultrasound examination of the uterus, with its help, the level of hormones in the blood is determined. The study is carried out either at the time of the appearance of blood discharge, or before the onset of critical days. A scraping of the uterine mucosa is taken, this option for diagnosing the disease is the most effective. If the second part of the menstrual cycle has already begun, then another type of study is used - the aspiration method. However, the diagnosis by scraping (histological) will be more truthful: it will show not only the form of the disease, but also help in further treatment, which will avoid the development of a malignant process.
Hyperplasia treatment
Surgical treatment of this disease is necessary for all women who are in menopausal or reproductive age. This operation consists in the fact that the uterine cavity is scraped out, the hyperplastic endometrium is removed, and the endometrium is ablated. Then, after the operation, a hormonal course of treatment is prescribed, which is prescribed by the doctor. The removal procedure itself takes a day and is performed under general anesthesia.
Medical treatment. Both hormonal and non-hormonal agents are used. The main drugs that have a preventive effect include oral contraceptives. Taking them has a beneficial effect and prevents the spread and further development of the disease.
Often, endometrial hyperplasia requires complex treatment: after surgical removal of the endometrial layer, supportive therapy is carried out with the use of low doses of hormonal drugs, which will significantly reduce the risk of complications.
After the end of treatment, it is recommended to conduct an ultrasound examination of the pelvic organs every six months.
Preventive measures for endometrial hyperplasia are the treatment of obesity, endocrine disorders and diabetes mellitus, adherence to diets and timely treatment of menstrual irregularities. In addition, it is necessary to avoid stressful situations and undergo a preventive examination by a gynecologist twice a year, especially in cases of uterine bleeding or if there is bloody vaginal discharge between menstruation.
