Before you start using ointments, applying compresses or masks, you should steam your feet. When the skin of the legs is softened, the active components of any product penetrate deeply and act on the corns more effectively.

  • One of the most common recipes for this procedure is a bath with 2 tablespoons of salt, crushed laundry soap and ammonia. You can simply add a few tablespoons of baking soda to the water.
  • A very fragrant bath comes with 2 drops of geranium, rosemary and cypress oil. This procedure improves blood circulation, therefore it is suitable for the prevention of calluses on the legs.
  • Instead of regular water, the feet can be kept in herbal infusions. For example, infused calendula baths have anti-inflammatory and disinfectant effects. They help prevent the appearance of fungal diseases and prepare the skin of the feet for the application of ointment or cream from corns. Calendula goes well with thuja and St. John's wort. The mixture is poured with boiling water, infused and filtered. Before the bath, it must be heated over low heat. Keep your feet in this broth for half an hour.
  • If dry calluses cause discomfort when moving, then a potassium permanganate bath will help relieve pain. The solution should be weak, keep your feet in it for 10-15 minutes. You can improve blood circulation and relieve tension, fatigue with corns using contrasting baths. You need to keep your feet in warm water for 5 minutes, and then in cold water for 1 minute.
  • Fermented milk products contain many beneficial substances. Therefore, the whey bath is very effective. Especially if after it you spread the places of dry corns with a mixture of castor oil and glycerin. For this, 2 cups of whey must be slightly warmed up, poured into a suitable vessel and kept there for about 25 minutes. You can also use regular milk, but then the time increases to 35-40 minutes.

After the bath, you can proceed to the second stage of the treatment of corns with folk remedies - a compress. It is usually applied at night, but in some cases several hours are sufficient.

The most effective compresses can be made with the following recipes:

  1. gruel from onions, grated, garlic, tomatoes or fresh potatoes, apply to the corns overnight;
  2. Cut the onion in half and keep in vinegar for 3 days. At night, tie the pieces to calluses with a bandage;
  3. propolis must be kneaded and applied to the corns for a day. In the evening, change the compress to a fresh one and leave overnight. Repeat procedures within a week;
  4. chop celandine and gently apply to sore spots. This plant should be used with caution: it is poisonous and, if overdose, causes poisoning.

With any compress, you should wrap your feet with a bag or film, and wear warm socks on top. Such procedures are not very convenient, but if you repeat them constantly, the problem of corns will be solved very quickly.

As a compress, you can use cotton socks soaked in sunflower or olive oil. They moisturize and soften rough skin. Socks should be worn for several hours. And massage with essential oils is not only an effective remedy for corns, but also an opportunity to have fun. A dash of bergamot or lemon oil will help soften your skin and remove dry calluses painlessly.

Prunes boiled in milk help a lot against corns. It should be used hot. After half an hour, usually such a compress cools down, and it must be replaced with a new one.

Another interesting and pleasant way to get rid of corns is to walk on the pebbles after the bath. To do this, you can put a container in the apartment filled with small smooth pebbles. Such procedures help to cope with dry calluses and have a positive effect on the entire body as a whole.

After the compress, the feet should be well washed in warm water and soap and treated with a pumice stone or a brush. Natural remedies will soften the skin and gradually peel off the corns. Most often, more than one such procedure is required to completely remove corns. But the use of effective remedies based on natural ingredients can solve the problem of corns within a few weeks. No need to cut off the hardened skin. This can lead to inflammation and contribute to the development of fungal diseases. After completely getting rid of dry calluses, prevention should be carried out regularly to avoid their appearance in the future.
