Lumbago
Growing and using the beneficial properties of the lumbago
Botanical characteristics of lumbago
Lumbago is a perennial plant with a powerful vertical rhizome. The stems of the plant are straight, they have one flower and 3 leaves, fused together. Lumbago flowers have a wide, simple and six-membered perianth, yellow stamens and many pistils. The fruits of the plant are multi-roots, in which all nuts have a column covered with hairs.
The plant blooms from April to May. Fruit ripening occurs between May and June. The plant is found in Europe, Western Siberia and Kazakhstan. It prefers to grow in clearings and forest edges, in steppes and dry pine forests.
Growing lumbago
Lumbago reproduces very well by seeds. June-July or spring is most suitable for sowing seeds. Autumn gives less results. The seeds should be sown into the ground to a depth of 1.5 cm. The seeds should be sown thickly so that they germinate faster. The soil for sowing seeds must also be prepared in advance. For this, it is recommended to add peat, mineral fertilizers and sand. For sowing, you need to choose a bright place. Seedlings will appear after 20-30 days. It is constantly necessary to water the soil in moderation. Seedlings should be covered with straw so that they do not suffer from cold weather or hot soil. If there are few seeds for sowing, then it is better to sow them in pots or in a greenhouse in mid-spring.
The seeds remain viable for two to three years. Young plants are transplanted in spring, if the plant is 1-2 years old. Old plants tolerate transplanting worse, so they are transplanted with a clod of earth. Lumbago in one place can grow for about 10 years, but for this he needs to create good conditions. In damp areas, the lumbago will not survive. During the season, complex mineral fertilizers should be applied to the soil twice. Adult plants do not need to be covered for the winter.
