Treatment of pancreatitis with herbs
The pancreas is an endocrine organ that produces insulin, glycogen and digestive juice. Glycogen is the body's energy reserve. It is consumed if necessary (for example, with intense physical activity).
Insulin plays a key role in carbohydrate metabolism by lowering the amount of glucose in the blood. Digestive juice is involved in the digestion of carbohydrates, fats and proteins.
Disruptions in the production of enzymes and hormones by the pancreas, as well as pathological changes in the cells and tissues of the organ lead to the development of a number of diseases:
- Acute and chronic pancreatitis;
- Diabetes;
- Oncology;
- Cysts;
- Cystic fibrosis;
- Pancreatic necrosis.
The most common disease is chronic pancreatitis.
There are many medicinal plants that have a beneficial effect on the functional state of the pancreas and improve its activity. Herbal medicine should be considered as an additional tool in the complex drug therapy prescribed by a doctor and also combined with adherence to a diet. Medicinal plants eliminate painful sensations during exacerbation, relieve puffiness and reduce inflammation.
