Treatment of prostatitis with folk remedies, at home
Prostatitis is an inflammation of the prostate gland that occurs due to a violation of the microcirculation of blood in the muscles of the pelvis and pelvic floor or an infectious process in its tissues. It is accompanied by dysuria, pain during urination and ejaculation, a significant deterioration in the quality of life of a man.
An untimely or improperly selected treatment leads to frequent relapses, the transition of the disease to a chronic form. In addition to conservative therapy, there are many folk remedies that have been tested by patients with prostatitis and have received excellent reviews.

Squats are the best exercises for prostatitis
If this disease is based on an inflammatory process (and not bacterial), it is possible that the blood supply to the muscles surrounding the prostate gland is impaired. To restore blood circulation, there is no better or more effective exercise than squats. First, you should take the test and try to sit down with straight arms raised above your head.
Squats should be deep, that is, the pelvis should not be held at or above the knees. Performing this exercise at least 100 times indicates good potential for treating prostatitis. Pain in the legs is a sign of muscle weakness and insufficient blood supply to the pelvic organs and the prostate as well.
You do not need to do hundred squats daily, 3 times a week is enough. The simpler option is to do 3 approaches in a row, 50 times each, with a break of 3 minutes between approaches.
You need to strive for the coveted figure "one hundred", supplementing the squats with other exercises:
- Performing "scissors", sitting on the floor and leaning with your hands slightly behind your back (20 times with each leg);
- Raising straight legs while lying on your stomach (20 times).
A set of these exercises in combination with squats will help get rid of prostatitis without medication.
Other exercises to treat prostatitis
Exercise 1. Lie on your back with your legs bent over yourself so that your knees are near your face. Wrap your arms around your legs, and in this position you need to lie for 3 to 20 minutes. This is a very effective exercise and helps even with an exacerbation of prostatitis, but patience is needed. The longer you lie like this, the better the effect, but no more than 20 minutes.
Exercise 2. In the morning, when you wake up, the first thing to do is massage the perineum for five minutes. This massage will relieve you of prostate congestion. Before eating, do one more exercise: standing in full growth, legs together, squat one third and in this position alternately move your knees forward, first with the left, then with the right. You need to continue to do this for five minutes. The exercise can be repeated in the evening. The first time, of course, will be difficult, but over time you will get used to it. And you definitely won't have to be afraid of prostatitis if you love to walk.
The most accessible exercise
Walking 2-3 hours a week reduces the risk of enlarged prostate gland (BPH) by 5-25%, and also reduces the chance of experiencing severe nocturia by 31% (the prevalence of nocturnal urine output over daytime). [1]
Biseptol is an effective and cheap antibiotic
In the treatment of prostatitis with symptoms such as urinary retention, pain during ejaculation and the lack of effect from the course of therapy with macrolides, antifungal agents, fluoroquinolines, Biseptol, a long-known and cheap drug, will help.
You need to take 2 tablets 480 mg 2 times a day daily for 5-14 days.
The components of the drug prevent bacteria from multiplying in the human body and inhibit their growth. It is effective against sulfonamide-resistant microorganisms. Among the indications for taking the drug are urinary tract infections, including prostatitis. Biseptol is excreted from the body in 7 hours.
Among the contraindications to taking it are such conditions and diseases:
- Individual intolerance;
- Renal and hepatic impairment;
- Allergic reactions to the components of the drug;
- Pathologies of the hematopoietic system.
Taking Biseptol, you need to carefully monitor the reaction of your body. Signs of an overdose: headaches and pain in the intestines, decreased appetite, dizziness. A significant side effect of high doses of Biseptol is bone marrow suppression. During long-term treatment, blood biochemistry parameters should be monitored.
Interrupted treatment can lead to exacerbation of prostatitis, inflammation, fever.
According to the reviews of many men who took Biseptol, relief came within a few hours, even in the most advanced cases.
Treatment of prostatitis with tea with honey
Chronic prostatitis with unstable results of antibiotic treatment and herbal infusions is amenable to honey therapy. Honey has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.
In addition, there is evidence that regular consumption of tea (a mixture of green and black) improves urological health in men, improves urinary flow and decreases inflammation, in just 6 weeks [2].
Before starting treatment, it is necessary to take into account the individual characteristics of the body - allergy to beekeeping products, the presence or absence of diabetes mellitus, since these conditions are absolute contraindications.
A lot of honey is required, at least 10 kg. It should be natural, linden or floral. For a day, you need to eat it along with tea about 100 grams, using it instead of sugar every day. After a little time, urination improves, pain disappears, and other indicators return to normal. After a complete cure, for prevention, it is recommended to use honey in small courses every month.
Honey and celandine recipe
This folk remedy is used after a complex treatment (antibiotics, suppositories, warming up, therapeutic exercises). After removing acute inflammation, you need to prepare a decoction of dry celandine. One hundred grams of dry grass is poured into 700 ml of boiling water, boiled for no more than a quarter of an hour. When the broth cools down a little, it is filtered through cheesecloth. Dissolve 500 g of natural honey in the broth.
Store this solution in a refrigerator in a glass jar. It is drunk before meals for 1 tbsp. spoon three times a day. During this course of treatment, alcohol and any medications are prohibited. At the same time, you need to drink a decoction of oats. It is taken in a glass (150-200 ml) 3 times a day. Oats are drunk for 1.5-2 months with interruptions - 2 days every 5 days of taking the broth. During such treatment, the load on the muscles of the perineum is not desirable; visits to the gym should be limited. Permitted sports - running, walking, swimming in the pool.
The first signs of relief can be felt within a week, and lasting results can be achieved by everyone who has completed the full course of treatment with honey and celandine. Even cases of chronic prostatitis at a stage when nothing but surgery helps can be treated.
Flower pollen from prostatitis
Research shows that pollen can be effective for prostatitis due to its anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, and anti-androgenic effects. In fact, the effectiveness of bee pollen has been compared to anti-inflammatory drugs like naproxen and indomethacin. According to research, "in non-bacterial inflammation of the prostate gland, pollen improves the condition of patients, effectively eliminating pain." [3]
Treatment of prostatitis with pumpkin seeds
Pumpkin seeds have long been used by healers in the treatment of prostatitis. They are a good and very affordable folk remedy for this condition. Since these seeds contain a lot of zinc, which is necessary for any man at any age, they quickly heal prostatitis.
Why do pumpkin seeds help with prostatitis?
100 grams of pumpkin seeds provides 10 mg. zinc, which is 50% of the daily value for an adult male. [4]
Zinc is critical for normal prostate function as it has the highest levels of zinc in the body. The results of a 2011 study showed that in men with prostate cancer and prostate adenoma, zinc is significantly less than it should be. The study also showed an increase in the excretion of zinc in the urine. [five]
During ejaculation, approximately 2-3 mg of zinc is lost. Therefore, you must ensure that you have an adequate intake of zinc in your body.
In 2014, Korean men with enlarged prostates discovered that pumpkin seed oil could act as an effective alternative medicine without adverse reactions. Study participants saw an improvement in symptoms, including better urination. [6]
Application methods
Method 1. Just add 30 grams of seeds to your diet 2-3 times a day.
Method 2. Peel half a kilo of pumpkin seeds and twist in a meat grinder. The seeds should not necessarily be fried, otherwise there will be no healing effect! And add 200 grams of honey. Stir the solution and make balls about the size of a hazelnut or slightly larger. You need to store them in the refrigerator, but 10 pieces can be laid out in advance so that they reach room temperature.
Eat one ball half an hour before meals 1-2 times a day. In this case, the ball cannot be swallowed quickly, chew and suck it for two to three minutes. This folk treatment for prostatitis has a very strong healing effect, so one course per year will be enough.
Other sources of zinc
- Wheat germ is a lightly germinated grain of wheat with a record 17 mg zinc. per 100 grams of grains.
- Oysters. Only 50 grams of oysters contains 8.3 mg. zinc, and in some species up to 10 times more. Besides the high content of this element, oysters are famous as an aphrodisiac.
- Sesame seeds. 7.8 mg. per 100 grams of sesame seeds.
- Beef and veal liver. Contains approximately 4.7 mg. zinc per 100 grams.
- Cereals. One of the most popular breakfast items, they contain 4 mg. zinc per 100 grams of flakes.
Infusion of hazel - an effective remedy for prostatitis
The main ingredient is filbert (hazelnuts). To treat prostatitis, you need to take either bark or hazel leaves. You can brew both ingredients alternately, alternating between them. Just be aware that the bark needs to be brewed twice as long as it is tougher.
So, take one tablespoon of hazel leaves (or bark) and brew it in a glass of boiling water. Close the lid tightly and wait half an hour. Then strain and take 1/4 cup 4 times a day.
It is better to use fresh twigs every time, but you can also use those already used several times. Usually a week of such procedures is enough - and the prostatitis goes away. (Read also: Pine pollen is a gift from nature)
Note also the fact that any hazelnuts (almonds, cashews, macadamia, Brazil nuts, pistachios, hazelnuts, pecans, pine nuts and walnuts) reduce the risk of prostate cancer when consumed 5 times a week, by 34%. [7]
Treatment of prostatitis with wormwood
Wormwood therapy helps with almost all inflammatory diseases of the genital tract, including prostatitis, killing pyogenic infection. For a full course of treatment, 100 g of dry wormwood is enough. It is rubbed with hands, at the same time chopping as thin as possible, and then sifted through a colander. The herb that has passed through its holes will be taken in dry form inside, and the one that remained unsifted will be useful for preparing a decoction for douching the urethra.
The bitterness of dry wormwood, passing through the human gastrointestinal tract, acts on the body to cleanse, ridding it of infectious agents.
Treatment sequence:
- In the first 3 days, every 2-2.5 hours, you need to swallow a pinch of dry wormwood, moistening it with saliva and drinking water. The frequency of taking wormwood does not depend on food intake. During this period, you can not take a break between doses of dry herbs, even at night.
- In the next 4 days, wormwood is not taken at night, and during the day they drink it 5-6 times a day.
- In the evening of every day, you need to do wormwood microclysters. To cook them, take 1 tsp. with a slide of dry wormwood. Pour a liter of boiling water, cool the infusion to 40 ° C, filter, pour 100 ml. Half of this volume is injected into the anus at night. There is no need to be afraid of the urge to defecate, they will not be.
The other half (50 ml) is injected into the urethra. It is not very easy to do this - you need to press the edges of the urethra to the tip of a miniature syringe, and sharply inject its contents. If this procedure is performed correctly, the wormwood decoction will pass up to the bladder. After 3-4 days with chronic or latent prostatitis, old pus will begin to emerge. The broth should not be too cold or hot, the best temperature is body temperature.
Douching with microclysters is repeated for 7 days.
Throughout the course of treatment, a strict diet is required, without which the wormwood treatment will not have the required strength:
- Animal food, protein, fish, eggs, sweets, dairy products are excluded;
- The amount of bread is limited (up to 200 g), it is allowed only in dried form;
- You can not take alcohol, smoke;
- Allowed foods: cereals, vegetables and fruits, nuts, sunflower oil.
During this course of treatment, exacerbation of latent ailments, a feeling of weakness, and the appearance of joint pains are possible. Douching can be continued for more than 7 days, until the signs of prostatitis have completely disappeared. With a preventive purpose, wormwood therapy can be carried out in spring and autumn.

Also note the benefits of sweet wormwood (Chinese), a native of Asia, which contains the compound artemisinin. Research shows that this compound can inhibit the growth of prostate cancer and its metastasis. [eight]
Parsley prostatitis treatment
Parsley has a wide range of useful and healing properties, in particular, it relieves inflammation and restores sexual functions. Despite the fact that we constantly use parsley in cooking, we value it for its spicy taste, parsley is a medicinal herb, as it contains a huge amount of useful minerals, vitamins and flavones (apigenin, chrysin and luteolin). Note that celery is just as healthy for men as parsley.
So, for example, 100 grams of parsley contains two daily allowances for provitamin A, which, by the way, is good for the eyes. And vitamin C is almost 4 times more than lemon! In addition, parsley contains inulin, which is a natural analogue of insulin, it also regulates blood glucose levels and, in addition, is the best food for our intestinal microflora.
Parsley juice should be taken in a tablespoon 3 times a day half an hour before meals.
