Definition of nodular fibroadenoma

nodular fibroadenoma

Fibroadenoma refers to nodular mastopathy. The factors contributing to its development in the mammary gland are not yet known to medicine. But, as medical experience shows, a tumor often appears as a result of a hormonal disorder. The tumor is painless to palpation, elastic structure, its size can reach the size of a walnut and more.

Appears in young girls and in women of fairly old age. In fact, a common fibroadenoma is not able to degenerate into a breast cancer, but often during surgery, while tissue cells are analyzed, it turns out that we are talking about a malignant neoplasm. The degeneration of a benign tumor into cancer is possible if it is a phylloid type.

This tumor is a special type, characterized by the rapid division of tissue cells, has a tendency to decay, since blood circulation inside the tumor is impaired. When the phylloid fibroadenoma is transformed into a sarcoma, the removal of the mammary gland is prescribed.

Treatment of nodular fibroadenoma

For the diagnosis to be established correctly, accuracy in the examination is necessary. This requires examination and consultation of several specialists. It is imperative to use an ultrasound machine, use a mammography device, biopsy, tissue and cell research.

It can be assumed that fibroadenoma appears as a result of dysfunction of the endocrine system, disorders of the menstrual cycle. Pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding can stimulate tumor growth.

With large neoplasms of more than 5 cm, carcinophobia, when the patient fears that the tumor will develop into cancer, an urgent operation is needed. It is difficult to choose a tactic for fibroadenoma in patients under the age of 50, as a rule, in this age group of women, tumor growth is very active, and it is impossible to assume the course of the disease.

Surgery to remove fibroadenomas is considered a simple procedure. It is performed under local anesthesia, for which lidocaine or novocaine is administered. General anesthesia is performed in case of intolerance to drugs intended for local anesthesia. Also, general anesthesia is administered when the tumor is poorly felt.

After the operation, intradermal cosmetic sutures are applied, after a couple of weeks, the Kontraktubex gel is prescribed, which has absorbing properties and prevents the formation of a rough scar. Hospitalization is needed for about a week if necessary, but this is usually an outpatient treatment.

Today, benign diseases are the main pathology of the mammary glands. The most common is fibroadenoma. No matter how diligently the treatment was selected, cases of spontaneous resorption of the tumor were not recorded.

The most important thing is not to waste time. The development of the tumor must be monitored, constantly using ultrasound control. With positive dynamics and an increase in the size of the fibroadenoma, one should not postpone its removal in order to exclude the risk of malignant transformation.

With a great variety of advertised means, supposedly guaranteeing resorption of fibroadenoma, a huge number of women continue to suffer from this disease. Having abandoned the surgeon, they expose themselves to danger and find themselves in a difficult position, resulting in a neglected form of the disease.

Do not neglect the help of doctors at the initial stage of the disease. It is easier to carry out a small operation and forget about your problem forever than to waste time and face a bigger problem when you have to completely remove the mammary gland or save a woman's life.

In most cases, initially rapid growth contributes to the achievement of a certain size of the tumor, after which its increase in size stops. Leafy fibroadenoma, quite rare, but still found in girls during puberty. It grows rapidly, grows to a very large size. It can take up 1/3, 2/3 and even 3/4 of the chest. On the eve of menopause and in the climacteric period, breast fibroadenoma does not have intensive growth.

Of course, in each case, the tumor can manifest itself in different ways and therefore it is difficult to predict the development of the disease. In modern clinics, reliable diagnostics are carried out in order to identify the causes of the formation of fibroadenomas. The method of psychometric testing is used to correct the psycho-emotional state. During monitoring of the course of the disease, measures are required to normalize the hormonal background and the immune system.

By correcting the root causes of the formation of breast fibroadenoma, they seek to prevent the growth of fibroadenoma, but the tumor must still be removed. Since fibroadenoma is referred to as a psychosomatic disease, patients are advised to avoid stressful situations, emotional experiences.
