The spike blooms in May-June, spreads a coumarin smell, delicate and sweet. The sweet spikelet is found in the steppe and forest-steppe zones of Russia, in Siberia, and also grows in Ukraine, the Caucasus and Central Asia.

Fragrant spikelet is a number of plants that make up dessert vermouth. For medicinal purposes, you can use the stems and spikelets, which have a diuretic and hypnotic effect. Aromatic infusions and decoctions of herbs are used for attacks of suffocation, headache, pulmonary tuberculosis, nausea and vomiting.
Infusion of fragrant spikelet: 1 tablespoon of dry raw materials should be infused for 30–40 minutes in a glass of boiling water, then strain. It is recommended to take the remedy 2 tablespoons 3 times a day
Tincture of a fragrant ear: 3-4 branches are required to grind, pour 0.5 liters of vodka, insist and take a few drops, diluting with water, in case of dizziness, to calm the nervous system, eliminate upper respiratory tract infections. The tincture is effective for coughs and colds. With congestion in the gallbladder, with hepatitis, gastritis, urolithiasis, accompanied by bloating, you can be treated with a medicinal balm.
Balm recipe: it contains 0.5 liters of vodka, 1-2 large branches of St. John's wort and fragrant ears, 0.6 cups of raspberry syrup. The tool must be insisted for 3-4 days. This balm can be used as a mouth rinse for stomatitis, bleeding gums. The plant's bactericidal properties help cleanse and heal wounds.

Decoction of an ordinary spikelet: in 0.5 liters of boiling water, it is necessary to pour three tablespoons of dried herbs of an aromatic spikelet, boil the broth for 15 minutes, cool, strain and drink with a strong cough, 1/4 cup twice a day.
Contraindications to the use of a fragrant spikelet
Sweet spikelet is contraindicated in case of a tendency to bleeding. The essential oil content of the plant is so high that during flowering it is possible to get sick with hay fever.
