To prepare such a compress, it is necessary to pour 100 grams of flax seeds with boiling water (100 ml), put on a low heat and cook in an enamel bowl until a thick, mushy mixture is obtained. After the gruel has cooled, you need to transfer the product to a glass jar and mix with a tablespoon of honey, and then close the jar with a lid. Cakes are made from the gruel immediately before use and applied to the area of the salivary glands. It is important to add that warming compresses can only be used at normal body temperature of the child.

For the treatment of parotitis with folk methods, it is recommended to use herbal infusions inside. There are several recipes known to help relieve symptoms of the disease and improve the well-being of the child. In addition, with mumps, the consumption of a significant amount of fluid is shown to increase salivation, which means that all the recipes below will be very useful.
Recipe 1. To prepare the infusion, take 1 tablespoon of lime blossom and pour 200 ml of boiling water over it. After the raw materials have been infused for 15 minutes, the product is filtered and the child is allowed to drink 1/3 cup three times a day.
Recipe 2. One and a half tablespoons of linden blossom are poured with one glass of boiling water and allowed to brew for 20 minutes. The mixture is filtered and the patient is given 1/3 cup to drink three times a day.
Recipe 3. One teaspoon of sage leaves is poured with a glass of boiling water, the raw material is infused for 30 minutes and filtered. The remedy is taken in the form of warm tea, 1/3 cup three times a day. The infusion can also be used to rinse the mouth.
Recipe 4. As a folk treatment for parotitis, you can use another fortifying and vitamin remedy - rosehip decoction. Five tablespoons of raw materials (crushed fruits) are poured with a liter of cold water. After boiling the product for 10 minutes, the broth is infused for eight hours, after which it is taken for one week, adding honey, jam or sugar.

Decoctions of medicinal herbs, which are natural antiseptics, help to disinfect the oral cavity in the treatment of mumps. Traditional medicine for the treatment of mumps recommends using a mixture of sage and chamomile. To prepare the infusion, you need to take one tablespoon of raw materials and pour it with a glass of boiling water. Having insisted the remedy for 30 minutes, filter it and let it cool. It is recommended to rinse your mouth with an antiseptic every time you eat.
