Castor oil, tar and xeroform can be found in the composition of the ointment. Each individual component has its own healing effects, and together they complement each other and have a pronounced antibacterial and wound-healing effect.

Castor oil (wound healing effect). The ability of castor oil to heal various wounds has been known for a long time. Oil is obtained by squeezing from the poisonous seeds of a plant called Castor oil. As an independent component, castor oil is often used to get rid of various skin rashes and peeling of the dermis. Oil helps well with burns and frostbite. What is the difference between Vishnevsky ointment and Levomekol ointment?

The Levomekol ointment contains the immunostimulant Methyluracil and the antibiotic Levomycetin. The ointment is prescribed for the treatment of trophic ulcers, for burns and purulent wounds, as well as for other dermatological diseases of an infectious nature.

Levomekol has a more pronounced effect than Vishnevsky's ointment. Another advantage of Levomekol ointment is that it does not have such a pronounced unpleasant odor.

The doctor should determine which ointment to use for the treatment of a specific disease, starting from the severity of the skin infection and from the general condition of the patient. If a quick effect is required, then Levomekol with an antibacterial component should be prescribed. With a slight suppuration, preference should be given to Vishnevsky ointments.
